Re: Soft brakes - Am I bleeding them correctly?

Is the master cylinder set up original ? i.e. no remote reservoir in the engine bay. If you have a remote reservoir ,is your Servo higher or lower than the reservoir. It coud be that there is air in the higher pipework to / from the Servo. Assuming normal brake fluid being used, put plenty of rag aro...

Re: She's started again after 21 years

As David said , you're getting there. The list of things to fix, re-do, alter, will get smaller and smaller. There then follows a sense of pride when it's all done. People will congratulate you and you can say " I did that myself ".I promise you that it will be impossible to make that state...

David
Dipswitch wiring...blue from the lighting switch, OK.blue / red to the dipped headlight OK.
Blue / yelow ? Should be the Blue/white to headlight main beam. Discoloured wiring I guess.
There's a surprise after 40 odd years !!

Re: Pickup restoration part three

David I think you will find the engine bay wiring a little easier.Once you have laid the loom out, the length of the individual wires, gives you a pretty good clue as to where they go. I always find that labelling the wires ...colour and what it feeds/ connects to...whilst you study the wiring diagr...

Re: Problems with full beam

Scot The blue/white wires, for the main beam. are the ones to concentrate on. Mike has covered the three wires going into the dipswitch. When the blue white leaves the dipswitch a double connector takes the supply onto the main beams via another double connector ( left and right ) the other side is t...

Re: Rear Window fitting help

No...windscreen is the other way, windscreen goes "in" from the outside.
You've acquired the technique now so the windscreen should be easy for you.
Remove the rear view mirror, if fitted already, to give you more room with the cord.

Re: Pickup restoration part three

David Stick with your new bulb holders and buy new bulbs, rather than hack the new loom about, splicing in old wiring/ bulb holders. It would only add to the " potential " for electrical faults, down the line. Try either http://www.autoelectricalsupplies.co.uk or http://www.vehiclewiringprod...

Re: small split on bonnet lip?

The strongest method would be to weld the split up,grind down with an angle grinder or power file ( for a more delicate grinding process ) small amount of filler if really necesary, anti rust, primer and top coats. Protect all the glass . bodywork paint and engine bay from flying sparks, when welding...
