You may remember Stephen, a member (pgp001) modified a canister by making the top removable to assist maintenance, he hasn’t posted here for a while.

Re: Car losing power….where to start
I once had an issue with a 944, although not a Minor, the same would apply, when under power it would cutout but start again, I suppose there are many possibilities but in my case it was eventually traced to a bad/thinning connection to the fuel pump. Maybe, although I don’t know, when pulling hard ...

It’s ok having a body number tattoo Chris but what happens when they sell their cars ? Try to talk them out of it, as in years to come it’ll all become a blurred mess anyway.

His first post with a phone number suggests, to me, he relies on a call rather than coming back here. I might be wrong of course!

If I was in your position of not being enthusiastic about the project, I’d get rid of it. Can’t see the pleasure of spending money on something you don’t want !

Can’t you find any kindness in accepting the person you refer to did apologised if he caused any offence?
There’s nothing wrong in posting light hearted comment.

Well, I guess it was me ! Posting after your recent declaration, would suggest a return. Don’t take it to heart, we all have ups and downs now and then ! Some people irritate me occasionally but I manage to shrug it off, ———-so far !!

Re: we have a problem
I looked in today expecting there to have been a bit of a pile on in the last week. Strangely, there has not. I started this post expecting there to be a bit of interesting discussion. Instead, it conked out, and there have been no new 'off topic' posts. Parts of this forum seem to be dying out; wh...

You need to check the offset and width, to be sure the tyres are clear of the top trunnions. The company might know, well possibly .

Yes, you need to consider the economics of it all. Sometimes you have to draw the line at some point, check the costs of the options and decide from there. Good luck.

Re: Engine swsp
As I say, whatever you’re happy doing. You’d easily get a 1275 reconditioned for £1000, simply because you already have the unit.
———— but if you can’t do it yourself or find another company, certainly don’t trust the last place it was rebuild at !!

Re: Engine swsp
I think most would choose the 1275 unit, especially as you have one. Then rebuilding it properly, should cost no more than getting another unit. It depends on your preference, of course.

I would have thought that gearbox more suitable for the 1275 engine. Although I’m no authority.
