Re: What Engine do I have
Methinks the distributor clamp confirms it's a 1275 A+
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought only Itals (not Marinas) had the A+ engine

Re: no fresh leads
I went into my local Halfords a couple of years ago and asked for a fan belt to fit a Morris Minor.
After searching through 3 parts manuals without success he coyly asked me, " is that a car sir? "

Re: Speedo
Hi David, I had the same trouble with my speedo. The problem turned out to be that the worm drive on the third motion shaft in the gearbox was loose. The speedo pinion which meshes with it was just spinning resulting in the speedo needle sticking and bouncing. If you disconnect the speedo cable at t...

1098 side/flasher lenses
Anyone know if clear plastic front side light/flasher lenses are available for the later 1098 minors. (That is opposed to the clear/amber ones) I'm thinking of incorporating the sidelights into the headlights and using an amber bulb in the original sidelight. I have seen these fitted but can't find ...

Re: Who would buy a wing in this condition
I've bought parts from this particular trader with no problems at all.
All his parts are accurately described and very fairly priced with detailed photographs.
Ebay would be a better place if all traders followed his example

Re: bouncy speedo!
If you remove the nylon gear speedo drive you can just get your finger
through the hole in the side of the box and feel the worm drive on the third motion shaft.
If you can turn it with your finger, that's your problem found.
Gear box out then I'm afraid.
