I am at the rebuilding stage of my van , it appears I should have spot welded the small steel channel to the under side of the door , I overlooked this part would it be ok to pop rivet it on or does any one know of a good adhesive which could be used. Just to clarify it's the channel which holds the...

Sorted. Window mechanism , lock latch operating arm, lock lever and escutcheon, glass, then glass frame and seales .It was such a long time ago when I stripped it down I had forgotten the sequence . Thanks

Hi thanks for your replies I have the rubber buffers and there is indeed one hole towards the back of the front wing about 4mm diameter

Rubber washer wing to valance

Hi the rubber spacer washer between the front bumper valance and the underside of the wing , is there a nut and bolt to fix the two together or is the rubber spacer just fixed to the underside of the wing acting as a buffer ,also roughly were is it positioned . Thanking you in anticipation

Yes that's true you can get new and second hand mechanisms but if they produce new ones how come they will not just sell a spring it seems a shame to scrap a good winder mechanism for the sake of a cheap spring

I am trying to make it look as original as possible the vans didn't have any padding on the door card it was just painted a very light crinkle finish , the outer edges of the door card I have filed a small pencil round

Hi. I have purchased 4 pieces of petg 2mm plastic sheet and cut and drilled them to a template door card for my van I am just awaiting from Woolies the non stretch vinyl to cover the cards . Total outlay £20 for the 4 pieces of petg (2 spares ) and £13-50 plus postage for the vinyl

Hi smithskids I take it your exhaust is the big bore have had a look on mini spares can't see the large bore front silencer , did you just buy some standard bends and weld together

Decided to scrap the worst wheel with the valve hole rusted and going to weld the worst of the remaining then a thin scim of filler

I have just had 5 very rusty crust van wheels blasted , there is now some quite large pits , what would the best filler to use to bring them level with the surrounding metal
