Re: EDT treatment

Don’t know about this treatment, but when the particulate filter on our diesel modern started to create problems we had the choice of a new one, a used one of unknown provenance or a flush. We went for the latter. Half a litre of chemical blown in under pressure, left for 40 minutes. Repeated, then ...

Looks like there’s been an issue...guess it’s sensible for the club to pre-empt any problems with a disclaimer.

Maybe it’s just another extremely politically correct posture? Councils are prone to that kind of thing.

I imagine,if she’s a half decent person, that she is probably suffering anyway. But she should come back and face the music, voluntarily. Tragic for all involved.

Reading today’s papers about how miserable rich CEO’s are, and the latest Royal family issues, I think they’d all be happier with an old car to play around with!

I’d seal the backs with diluted PVA , to resist damp. Unless the car is kept inside and warm.

Thinking back, I should have been able to sort it out. But I got a bit of a brain fart because of the weather and the location. Hindsight is wonderful.

Re: fuel pump

They gave us an estimated arrival time of 4-5 hours. We explained that we were in a dangerous situation, but that cut no ice. It was wet and freezing and their advice was to put on our hazard lights and leave the car. She couldn’t get her head around the fact that the car doesn’t have hazard lights!...

Re: Steering wheel, and B post seat belt anchorage. Safety improvement without destroying character? Ideas appreciated.

My ‘61 saloon and ‘55 A30 have never had belts fitted. I regularly agonise whether to butcher them and install a safety feature that must be of questionable value, given the the design and construction of the cars. Must say, it feels naughty and oddly exhilarating to drive legally without belts. Bon...

Re: Euphemisms

Generally, the bigger the company, the worst the customer service. Small businesses value and care for their customers. When I sold my business to a big FTSE 100 company, I was appalled by their customer service and their care towards our staff. Couldn’t understand why they paid good money to buy a f...

Re: Curiosity killed the.....

Les the reason the fox kills more than one chicken is to silence the others.A fox is only looking for food and doesn't rely on chickens and if they were locked up properly there would be no problem .The way animals are treated in this country is disgusting ie Halal Kosher slaughter is a barbaric wa...

I get all that Les. It’s just difficult when you have to clear up something that looks like the aftermath of the Somme.

Re: Curiosity killed the.....

We shouldn’t judge animals by human ethical standards,of course. When we kept chickens we wanted them to roam free and have a happy time...they are really fun, interesting birds. The difficulty though,is that the more freedom that they have it becomes very difficult to protect them from predators. Fo...

Re: Curiosity killed the.....

I’m a bit more optimistic than you Chris. I think the vast majority of people are fundamentally decent and caring.
Animals now, love them dearly but anyone who has seen the aftermath of a fox attack on a chicken run will appreciate the old adage ‘red in tooth and claw’.
