Re: Spotted today.
At last, have got time on the computer to upload today's video snapshot of a Rose Taupe Traveller in the Farnbrough area (Hants), that, with inside information, has been "stored" on this driveway for 12 years![frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1368654807_17825 [/frame] This drive-b...

Re: Spotted today.
I am impressed by the image quality of that in-car recorder. :) Agree - I'd like one myself but might get mistaken for a traffic cop :) Camera fitted to inside of windscreen, behind the rearview mirror and is not noticable. I record all my journeys after being forced into installing an "indepe...

Re: Spotted today.
Bit late in uploading stills lifted from my in-car video recorder. The first was taken at 12:40 in the Worcester Park area on the road from Kingston to Sutton. It is a black 4-door sporting a badge-bar and badges.[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1368572965_17825 [/frame] Using VLC to view ...

Re: Oil & Temperature gauges now fitted
Katy, I've got plumbing olives (for domestic water pipes - 15mm & 22mm) but nothing as small as this. The fitting ends were already soldered on (both ends) and, had there been a problem with the kit, I wouldn't have got a refund had I already cut things about. On the nearside (UK passenger side,...

Oil & Temperature gauges now fitted
Hello Folks, just an update on auxillary gauge fittings. As one was "mechanical" and the other "electrical", I've chosen to post in "Other". Fitting the temperature sender was quite easy as the 1098 head already had a blanking plug fitted. As I bought the Gauge and Send...

Re: Where is the number 90 BPH now?
Thank you Faversham - just tried it and it did come up with the details, like what you told me in an earlier post. Strange that it doesn't come up on the DVLA search (which is free online) and shows current "license" state.
Thanks again, George.
Thanks again, George.

Postage costs for National Rally SAE
Folks, I still haven't sent in my Entry Form. It requires an A5 SAE. Does anyone know how much stamp value is required?
Thanks, George.
Thanks, George.

Re: Where is the number 90 BPH now?
Hello ASL, I think you may have misunderstood. The car I currently have (in the sig picture) was 90 BPH. In 1985, the then owner did a 3-way number swap. 90 BPH went onto a BMW, the BMW plate was returned, and the Moggy got a new plate of APA 91A. If 90 BPH is currently supposed to be on a Merc, the...

Re: Where is the number 90 BPH now?
Thank you faversham. I had already tried this index against a number of "up market" cars on the online Vehicle enquiry form and no details are found. Armed with your info, I tried again, still no luck - what does this mean? Is the car not legally registered? Has it been scrapped and the pl...

Where is the number 90 BPH now?
I've finally got the "full" DVLC/DVLA history of my Traveller. Its original number of 90 BPH was the subject of a transfer in 1985 to a BMW. Anyone know if this number is still being used? These records also show when the 803cc engine was swapped out for the current 1098 one - November 198...

First Shopping Trip
Today I actually used my Moggy for a real shopping trip. First to Camberley Autofactors to get some connectors and then onto my local Big Tesco - bit of a mistake as today all the panic buyers were out, was lucky to get a space.[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1364572886_17825 [/frame] Ret...

Re: Main Beam Indicator in Speedo
Sunshine at last (today) and so I did some work on cars. 1st I had to do a 12,000 mile service on my Diesel 406 estate, then I could turn my attention to the Moggy (estate). I've fixed the headlamp wiring main-beam problem.[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1364572372_17825 [/frame] The yell...

234 BVB (Bertie) Where are you?
I took my first Morris Saloon off the road in October/November 1984, when it failed its MOT on account of part of the floor falling out. I never got around to doing anything with it - house move, new baby, down to one salary etc. I later sold it on to one of the Dustmen on the local collection run (...

Re: series 2 jacking points
My 1956 Series II traveller has them, but I think these were erroneously fitted after a floor rebuild/replacement in c.2000.
It also has the original strenghtened points in the wheel arch areas and the unsafe-looking original jack.
See my earlier post regarding these at Louise's link (above).

Re: National Rally 2013 - who is going?
I'm going to be there, but only for the Saturday :( . I'm only about 70 miles away from the site. Putting screen names up on the cars is a good idea - up in the top of the front screen, in with the blue "sun" band 8) No - I don't have one of those colour bands fitted (see sig pic), but I d...

Re: Storing outside
I bought one of the covers that DSN Classics sell. Supposed to be breathable but, in use, allows water in with copious amounts of water "wicking" all over the bodywork (I have a Traveller). I'm currently going through the process of getting a Planning Application in for a detached garage t...

Re: Silted up water channels in Engine Block
In answer to BMC's earlier question - the impellor is a cast alloy/alluminium one. The pulleys all did line up and the only "good" thing about having to source M6 hex-head bolts, was that I could use my metric ratchet ring spanner (M10 size) to refit the pulley/fan assembly[frame] http://m...
