Re: Lowlight shell on ebay
I've also been looking at this shell. I recon its a '49 or '50 shell. Not sure of its condition but looking at the photos it looks like the engine bay floors have been replaced as you can see plug welds. Also the roof has taken a hammering and would take an awful lot to get that right again, however...

Re: Pictures in the snow
This was Sheffield last Wednesday. At the time 22inches of snow had fallen in three days. My 52 Convertible project is safely tucked up in the double garage in the photos. Re: 1949 Tourer from Aus
Hi Rob, I don't know if you know, but your car is shown on Ebay under the classic car section as an example in an advert by a bead blasting company. When I saw it, I thought, I've seen that car somewhere before and came straight here. I have a couple of questions. I had a convertible splitscreen she...

Re: goodwood revival
My first time at Goodwood last Sunday. A dry run for next year when I hope to go in my finished 427 SC Cobra. (One project at a time - my 1952 convertible is next on the list) The event was fantastic! I have attached a few photos to give an idea of what there was to experience. Look out for the pict...

Re: Series MM Rear Wings
Hi Malta MM, Another detail to look out for is that MM rear wings do not have and angled strengthener fitted inside the bottom edge to stop them flapping at speed. All later 1000 wings have this even after the wheel arch is altered to look like an MM. It just depends how 'original' you want the car ...

Re: Any pics of series 2 at the National?
I remember POY 8 from the mid to late 80's when it was owned by a guy called Gordon (I think his surname was Mitchell but could be wrong). It was a regular sight on West Yorskshire Branch events. Good to see it is still being appreciated.

Re: Daytime running lights ?
Morning Roy, There is a 'bible' of rules for the building of kit cars and component vehicles issued by VOSA. I have tried to add the link below for the M1 rules for passenger cars. If you look through the manual until you get to section dealing with lights there are diagrams, descriptions and height...

Re: Daytime running lights ?
As you can see from my signature I am completing a kit car build at the moment. When the vehicle is finally completed it has to be submitted for a thorough inspection at a special VOSA test centre for a four hour Independant Approval Test (IVA) and if it passes recieves a Ministry Approval Certifica...

Re: convertible hood danger
Sorry to hear about your incident Doc,
I have found it is always best to lower the hood on these cars with two people one on either side of the car.

Re: MM's at the National
Hi dp, I have been lead to believe that the later MM cars painted Black had their cheesgrater grilles painted Clarendon Grey and the Clarendon Grey car's grilles were painted Birch Grey. Empire Green car's grilles were body colour. Not sure about Thames Blue and Mist Green. Someone will be along sho...

Re: JLH
I am not aware of the exact reasons for Jonathon's banishment but I will say that this website is the most 'moderated' of any that I visit on a regular basis. I think I have been 'moderated' twice already! Or was it three times? To ban someone with the knowledge and enthusiasm of Jonathon is a great...

Re: Ian's 1952 MM Convertible NTG 773
Thanks for the post and photo Louise and I did read your comment about the National Rally. The tonneau on the 1000 convertible prototype does look very similar to the one on my car (see earlier in this thread). I didn't get to see the car (AJO) in the flesh at Harewood as I was just too busy on the ...
