Re: insurance

Or have a conversation with a real person at a good local insurance broker. FJ couldn't get any where near our local broker's price on a like for like basis, despite the club discount.

Suspend reality! It's entertainment. But it has a value because it gets youngsters interested in our cars.

Re: Holidaying in France

Yes, they are fab cars. Mine had a great heater( by 1975 standards!) I'd love another but not sure if the boss would allow another garage.

Re: Front wings

Sounds like there's a bit of luck involved with the repro stuff. I did ok with original wings but prep them well before fitting.

Re: Floor paint

I agree. The wax injection isn't too expensive either. I was told that it's better done when the car is bone dry else you could trap water between the metal and the wax. Seems plausible.

Re: Do we know when we are NOT buying Ethanol ??

I just get the feeling that they will gradually put more and more of the stuff into petrol. Have read conflicting reports on how effective the protective additives are. For the moment I'm sticking to branded 'super' for all my old cars. Not worth risking it for a few pennies.

Annoying Facebook thing

Just wondered what this annoying Facebook message is that has suddenly started popping up every time I go on the forum. Only stays for a few secs but gets right up my nose! Hope they are paying the club to put it on...

Re: correct master cylinder?

Hey chaps, a bit of fun and all that but don't you think all this sniping at concours is a bit naughty? I don't do it because I drive the old cars all the time but I love to see a real trailer queen at a show. This should be a broad church covering everyone from the 'survival motorist' to the museum...

Re: Floor paint

When I did my 1961 saloon I wirebrushed the floor, vacuumed it, treated with rust converter( Bilt Hamer?),then 3 coats of Hammerite. Still ok after 7 years. Main thing is to look after the underneath I think.

Morris Art

Came across these pictures in our local framers a few days ago. Weird as they're very similar to our two cars. Thought it would be nice to share them.
