I have had the same problem with my 1980s 4 stroke motorcycle. I have added 2 stroke oil to the petrol and that cured the problem. When you refit the head shorten the rocker locating pin lock plate so that the locking pin is secured only by the 5/16" stud. Then only the 5/16" stud has to be disturbed. BMC/BL did a similar thing but mistakenly shortened the locking plate the wrong way so that the 3/8" head stud ha...

You cannot replace the pedestals without disturbing the head gasket contact even if you replace one pedestal at a time.
The risk of the head gasket subsequently failing outweighs the additional work of replacing the head gasket as part of the installation of the 1.3 - 1 rockers.

As the drain plug is the lowest point on the gearbox the oil could be coming from anywhere.
I would suggest that you clean the gearbox casing and then run the car and see if you can trace the leak.
But before you do anything check the current gearbox oil level.

In that case I would go for a good used engine mount rubber. You have a choice from:- MG Midget/Sprite 948cc/1098cc/1275cc. The A30/A35/A40. Morris Minor 803cc/948cc/1098cc.
