GWX850J for sale on ebay
Just noticed that this car, located in Lowestoft is now on ebay with some bids on, this is a car I looked at in Jan and took a quick walk away from, it looks nice but up close and persomal the work that has been done to it is to a poor standard. I would hate one of us to get caught, the car is savea...

Sill kick / cover plates
I am just wondering how the cover plates should be fixed at the top, they are sandwiched between parts at the bottoms but have no fixings at the top, and are tending to spring upwards, the bottom corner of the drivers door has been rubbing on it when closing. I did think of popping them off, and put...

Re: Which brand for electronic Ignition
Likewise with Accuspark, just fitted that to mine and very happy with it, along with the high energy coil and red rotor arm.
Took it as a good opportunity to whiz the dizzy out and give it a good service as well.

Re: Static Timing
Thanks for that, been along while since I have played with dizzys and timing, all my cars since 1987 have been efi, black box driven. I think its ticking over too fast as wel so thats not helping me set it up, I have gotten a tacho to set that up, taken a step back and to to sort out this timing. I ...

Re: Static Timing
I'm going through the same thing here with the car, I have just done an Accuspark conversion to the distributor, so it now has to be setup again. I have got the car running, took it for a drive and it was missing and hesitating badly, turning the dizzy clockwise seems to improve things, so I presume...

Re: Boot seal on 1966 saloon
Thanks for that, now just to sort out the small surface scabs on the lower lip, and around the inner edge, it will be all good then. If I stop it now the boot lid will be fine, going to be blowing the whole car full of Dinitrol anyway in any orifice or cavity I can find. Done lots with the engine as...

Re: Boot seal on 1966 saloon
Well I had some tome yesterday and did battle with the boot. Pulled the seal off the lid and fitted the one that fits to the car, which on pure aesthetics I think looks better anyway. Some adjustments with the lid and it now locks securely, also gave me chance to fit a gasket behind the handle that ...

Re: Boot seal on 1966 saloon
I have the later style as on your red car, its a 1966 model. I have ordered the earlier type seal and am going to have a go with that, its just looks better then the block of rectangular rubber i have there at the moment. Self adhesive foam strip in varying thickness is available that I can put on t...

Re: Boot seal on 1966 saloon
Chesney, retractable arm near the catch, not quite sure what you mean there, the only arm is the support on the rh side or am I being stupid and missing something in my newness ? Is there anyone able to take a picture of their boot setup / seal please, interested to see what it looks like, and also ...

Boot seal on 1966 saloon
Well i am finding my way round 'Maisie' my newly acquired 1966 saloon and first Minor, one of the jobs is to sort the boot out, it does not fit the body well and is almost impossible to lock. Looking down the side the is a large seal that when closing the lid seems to sitting on the lip of the body....
