Re: Installing a windscreen

I find ArboMast Auto seal to be one of the best sealants. Its non setting and also easy to clean off. Seal up before you fit the plastic trim and should give you a good water tight seal.

Re: Rear brake light issue

It sounds like the wires have been put in the wrong bullet connectors in the boot, should just be a matter of swapping them over. Red for side lights and from memory green and purple for brake lights.

Re: Series MM rear window clips

They fit onto the edge of the body and are so you cant just push the side windows inside the car, Ive only ever saw them on a couple of my cars and never had any success trying to refit them!

Re: New member from Bury North Manchester

Welcome!! :D Yours is a late car so will already have the 8inch drums brakes. Its worth giving the whole system a thorough check over to make sure nothing is sticking or seized and then fit Mintex shoes, you should notice a great improvement. The back brake drums are very prone to sticking if the ca...

Re: Another insurance question

I was with Footman James for about 20 years and then decided to shop around. I went to Lancaster for a year and did save about £100 on my group policy, but I no longer had occasional commute on all the cars, agreed value had to be specified and was not easy to sort and heard through some other peopl...

Re: New Purchase!!

My tourer still has the folded metal mounts and some kind of very much home made bar to mount them to the fibre glass valence! A similar arrangement is on the front as well. I have borrowed an original back bumper iron from Frank and when my parcel arrives from Oz it will have a paper sample in to c...

Re: Early '49 Tourer - Adelaide

Craig, so very sorry for the loss of your friend.

Sounds like you have also had a bad time. The old saying your health is your wealth is very true. Wishing you continued good health and hoping to see that car out motoring again soon!!

Re: ADVICE ON SERIES 2 WINDSCREEN WIPER MOTOR NEEDED

Craig, I have a May 1950 MM and found I also had a different fitting on my wiper motor. I contacted Club Spares but Bryan had never came across it either. I found I was able to use the mounting bolts, washers and rubbers off the base a 1000 wiper motor and it did the same job as the old bonded mount...

Re: Any part Missing

If the car is old enough it has a rubber wiper grommet which no longer seems to be on the ESM or other minor websites. This is the nearest alternative I think is available.

Glad to hear that you got a response to the V888. My friend sent one off for his recently acquired Morris 10 and had his cheque returned quoting data protection of records.

I sent one off last year for my Austin 10/4 and got back some really interesting history :D

Re: New Purchase!!

The heritage certificate has arrived and confirmed the build date as 7-9th March 1950 and despatched 14th of same month to a dealer in Edinburgh! Ties in well with Busguy's details from Glasses Guide.
