I don't think your distributor drive is a worm I think it's an offset slot drive which means it will only fit in one place throughout the whole 360 degree's.

It's awkward using a generator to power a welding set. What happens is as the welding set strikes up the generator starts working harder and the revs go down which then puts the throttle on more to up the revs, this makes the generator output fluctuate which in turn affects the output of the welding...

I don't know for sure but I seem to recall from previous threads the MGB axle is a different width to the moggy one, might be wrong though. Surely your best bet would be to have the moggy prop shaft altered to suit your intended set up.

Remove the thermostat from the system and do your checks again to see if water is flowing, with the thermostat removed the water should flow through the radiator all the time the engine is running.
