Re: Something Just Doesnt Add Up.....

If it sounds TOO good to be true, it probably is!!

Keep your money in your wallet/purse until you've seen the vehicle "in the metal", the identification plates match and you are 100% satisfied that all is good!

ANY doubts, walk away!!

Brilliant,thanks!

Re: Engine Number Identification

Numerical mistakes usually made when DVLC computerised their system c1979.

Many thousands of Morris Minor's, Morris 1100's, Morris Mini's details were processed to compile the database -
with so much detail to transfer, blunders occurred.

Re: curved air and Sonja Kristina

Whilst on a music theme...

Anyone on here know where a copy of Widor's 'Toccata in Fugue' (Westminster Abbey) can be sourced?

I'm reasonably confident I
can just about survive without the impressive vocal & songwriting talent of JLS!

Re: DVLA proof of year of manufacture

Both the date of manufacture & DoFR should be on the logbook (V5c). Former on the MoT print-out(?).

Who said a letter showing 'proof of age' was required?

Re: Engine Number Identification

Don't know about the absent '1' prefix + the additional 'K' - strange to be close to a std nos.

10MA-U-H 359xxx would make it c1969ish

Use 'original' unmolested lcv's as reference - restorer's often forget lcv's were BUILT for commercial use!

Re: traveller engine +box- into a van?

Cannot put high compression 1098cc's into green vans, it will effect the BMC/BL warranty! You have to re-paint your van - same colour as the donor - or, seek advice from an authorised dealer! But seriously, no problem with a switch, although be mindful of 'fittings' that may be different. Post the e...

Re: A few pick up questions.

Better to admit uncertainty, rather than give duff advice. For example, an 'expert' must have told the owner of postal van JLW 576D to fit fnt m/flaps + blk tyre pressure decals. Enthusiasts prepared to spend thousands on preserving our motoring heritage should be commended, not hindered by being gi...
