Re: Wheel bearings replacement?
My front wheels were balanced by a garage but the problem was still there. I have learnt not to immediately eliminate issues so it may not have been done correctly. I will try that method sometime and see what the results are. If its balancing, ill get the garage to do it. If not ill let you know

Re: ignition
People have said electronic ignition for reliability. I have points and the condensor failed. I could still drive the car 'just' and nurse it home/garage etc. I beleive with electronic ignition, although fails less, when it does you are stuck? I may be wrong but I'd rather change points than the who...

Wheel bearings replacement?
Hi guys, I am getting a wobble from the steering wheel over 60mph. I had the wheels balanced but it made no difference and overtime is getting worse. Had the car up on the ramps a week or so ago & the front left wheel did move a tiny bit (pushing and pulling top/bottom if that makes sense) and t...

This thread made me giggle. I've climbed through the rear seat before - I had just left the keys in the building and couldn't be bothered to get them. Boot was unlocked anyway

Re: 1970 Morris Minor 1000 2dr Trafalgar Blue RUN 634H
Just a note on the number plate - that is a front one. When sitting behind a row of our club member's cars, those with newer plates/restored or replaced had the silver bit on the edges (like the front plates). We had a laugh about it because it took so long to work out why they each looked different...

Re: speedo readings with a 3.9 diff??
i can not find the post, but i am sure someone on here has stripped the paint off the face of their speedo and went for a drive without the glass in and got a friend to mark the 20 , 30 marks etc might be an option Charlie - my speedo needle sometimes sways up to 5mph either way - which would be th...

Re: SU Carb question 1098cc
I have cleaned my very dirty carb, (smoky engine was running when I bought the traveller) it had a teaspoon full of very fine rust in the float bowl and slightly sticking air valve piston. All nice and clean and smooth now BUT there was no gasket between the bell chamber (suction chamber) and the b...

Re: Poor quality condensers
Sounds a hit & miss thing. My car has just been in the garage for 2 weeks due to a faulty condesor (the only thing we forgot to replace...typical). The guy bought a proper Lucas condensor to go with the Lucas points and they seem fine now. I'd recommend NOS..my old one was fine so I shouldn't ha...

Make sure the screw holding the fuse box to the bulkhead is in alright - I had problems with mine, renewed it and it works fine.

I used foam carpet underlay. Also some camping mat material. It is under the carpet, rear seats and also against the bulkhead on the dashboard side - took the gloveboxes our and just put it there. Works great, my doors just let wind noise in now

Re: Help needed - fuel leak?
Right. Dad tightened the nut on the end of the pump and I took it for a drive, and she ran fine. I went home, got my bag and drove to the end of my road on the way to the MMOC meet when it started ticking madly again & was jumpy/misfiring quite alot as I was pulling out of the junction so I took...

Re: Help needed - fuel leak?
Touch wood. I used the Honda to come to work today so will try the old girl later. I have an MMOC meeting this evening and I think one of the member is bringing a spare fuel pump so we'll see. The issue is I drove 45 mins to Ely to do our annual 'take a few oldies out in moggies' trip and 3 other Mo...
