Re: Help needed - fuel leak?

Ok. I've been advised it could be due to the hot weather. I said about the 'leak' because I spotted it as if there a small squirt from the pipe but it was there this morning, not evaporated. I'll see how she goes today and report if any problems. New fuel line I think ill get. The current one isn't ...

Help needed - fuel leak?

Hi there. Today with our branch we are taking a few of the old people at a local home out for a drive in the minors. My problem is on a drive last night, my cars fuel pump started ticking really quick, then normal, then quick again. For most of the way home. It coughed a couple of times too. The tic...

Re: May be too much?

Agreed. Even if the car doesn't tempt you to keep it, think the saving on insurance. Mine next year is 600 or 900 for a similar car, engine etc :p

Re: May be too much?

Trust me I know the feeling, I was there a few weeks ago and have been there before. There are always periods of issues with the cars but I was told running her everyday will only make it better in the future. You'll always love the car and putting her aside or selling won't do good. Keep going. I d...

That`s first time insurance with a provisional licence with Footman James.
Seems like £1 for every cc!

Re: How to Mount Stereo In Glovebox?

How is the crackle? I had to fit suppressed leads but the car didn't like them much, I have to buy a new set. Mine crackled alot when I had the copper ended ones fitted.

Re: How to Mount Stereo In Glovebox?

My aerial is literally resting on the glovebox. I rarely listen to it tbh but its there if I need it!. I just bought a wing mounted one and haven't fitted it (again me+drilling holes = disaster). YoungCamper - I have attached a picture that should help. I have just made boxes to fit in the footwell ...

Re: How to Mount Stereo In Glovebox?

Yeah I wouldn't put speakers on show on the parcel shelf. Make a frame for the rear footwell, if you use the smaller speakers you'll have loads of room, I've seen it done

Re: Strange rattle/knocking from engine

Very good points. (oh and the idea about engine before Halogen lights...probably best ;). I have always wondered how they connect).
'Spose money and sense says keep the Mog, and fix it. £1400 for new car inc. insurance OR few hundred for a working beautiful classic. The choice...

Re: How to Mount Stereo In Glovebox?

I used to have a Fusion amp and the 6x9s connected to that and just the iPod connected in, no head unit or anything. That worked well but I use CDs more and was given the CD/Radio unit.

Re: How to Mount Stereo In Glovebox?

That is the other option. As I mentioned I didn't want to drill holes because 1. I know what i'm like with doing those sort of things! and 2. its original and I didn't fancy risking ruining that. I have a few times got my hand caught changing tracks round a corner but thats partly because I should'v...

[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1310587967_7261 [/frame] This is where the headunit is (behind steering wheel). I couldn't take it out but to the rear of the head unit is the rectangular plug for the back of it. From there came the wires that would fit to the wiring loom of a modern car. ...

Re: Cancelling insurance?

I'll see what they say. No way on this planet is she being sold! The problem is I am so in love with the car she will never be sold. Its how people see me in that car and I didn't just buy her, we brought her back on the road and she's one of a kind. I was just trying to see what options I have, sto...
