It is not easy believe me, I managed to find a triang spot on model for about £20 which is 1:42 scale and painted it to look like my car.

Your car your choice. I can not see the colour of a car effecting the price, what is more likely to effect the price would be the finish of the paint. So really just select the colour you want and paint the car.

I thought it could also be dim lights, but not evan a fast idle made any difference, so it must be the sunlight.

I still have bright sunlight here and when I tried I could not see the light on anyhting that was more than a few feet away from the car.
