Re: VW weekend
Only just seen this thread, wish I had seen it before as there are quite a few remarks that I would like to comment on but just don't have the time now as there are so many. What I will say though is this... As the Registrar for the Young Members register I'd like to think I know what young members ...

We also gave as much help and advice as we could when visitors to the stand asked for advice. There was also a demonstration b...

Re: What motor oil ????
I was informed that Comma make and supply oil for all the 'Wilkos' and 'halfords' etc in this world. This was from the 'Fat bloke' down the local vehicle factors. Don't know how true this is though. Anyone? I've heard mutterings that they make it for Halfords, on here and other palces, but it's nev...

Re: Moggie @ 7400 feet
E registrations (mine is an E reg also) were only issued for 6 months, not 12 months like all the others, as the way reg letters were issued changed in '67 from January - December to July - June I believe.

Re: Tax excemption advise for new member.
The guy in our local post office doesn't seem to be able to understand the Historic Vehicle tax exemption and every year he has a puzzled look on his face and asks to see my disability badge or something similar

If you have no idea what you're doing then best to join a local branch and become best friends with the most knowledgeable guy there as well as posting on here and the MMOCYM facebook page.

Re: Finding car history from engine number?
Well the engine number would tell you what make of car it was from and whether it was a factory replacement unit. You could then compare this to the number on the bulkhead on older cars or the heritage certificate if you have one to see whether it is the original engine.
