Re: super unleaded
I found mine drove a lot better. Pulled better from low revs, didn't have any hesitation. Don't recall any hot smell, but I only put a few litres in. So will be interested in the replies as it probably doesn't go off like regular unleaded. Now I have a "leaded" head, it has never been conv...

Re: Nutrition information.
Several years ago I made a long term life style decision to reduce the amount of sat fats, salt and sugar in line with the NHS recommendations. (I'm 47) To be honest, I found, buying anything in a packet is going to blow any of those limits. If you make your own without adding any salt and using lea...

Re: Knocking from boot!
The spare wheel should be clamped in place to stop it thumping around. If it isn't I think you may have eliminated one potential suspect.

Have you been to Ripley and popped into any local shops?
It doesn't look a very big village, Someone would remember either the garage or Alan surely?

Thinking of doing this myself, but on the "Chocolate Hobnob Richter Scale" of difficulty. I believe it's at least two large packets, (one single chocolate hobnob being the easiest of course). Which is why I've yet to tackle it.

Re: reliable old components
Nothing is allowed to live long anymore, in the interests of the environment stuff must go back to ground... literally. How many times has the wife got rid of and replaced a dining room table and chairs in the interests of "It no longer looks like the latest fashion."

It's not the boot lid rattling is it?

That's quite interesting, at Jaguar Land Rover our production week starts on a Saturday.
I guess all our cars will eventually go off on a Friday.

Re: Series MM wheel bolt taper angle
No problem Rob, happy to help. There's just one thing I've been pondering. I wasn't aware you could weld cast iron, due to the nature of the crystal grain structure. So, if the bolt were to become detached from the drum, you could struggle to tighten the wheel nut. You can weld cast steel though, do...

Re: Series MM wheel bolt taper angle
I'm sure Mike Perry did a fix on his MM converting to studs and nuts, I don't think he's been on line for while, hope he is okay. I'll go through some of his posts, I think he described what he did on here somewhere. Edit: https://www.mmoc.org.uk/Messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=51321&hilit...

Re: Series MM wheel bolt taper angle
The bolt bottoms out? Are the holes in the wheel worn and over size? Have you thought of rolling yourself a cone taper from sheet to slide over the bolt taper? A bit like a modern wheel nuts, you could make it in a way that the cone taper locks on the wheel as the bolt rotates preventing future wear...

Re: Retractable seatbelts
Mine slips off too, but mine is a four door and retractable. As well as Phil's excellent idea, have you tried raising the buckle as high as possible? The further you point the buckle towards the roof of your Minor, it has the effect of lifting the seat belt higher across the torso. This then natural...
