That is brilliant I love my campers and I love my Minor so I'd say you have the perfect vehicle
The pop-top looks very similar to that on my Auto-Sleeper, does it operate in a similar fashion.

Maybe running a little lean, have you tried the lift pin test?

Re: temperature guage wiring
If it's an electrical gauge or a cappilary type, the sensors both fit here, this is my new capillary gauge fitting.[frame][/frame]
Sorry about the pic quality
There should be a blanking plug there if a sender hasn't already been fitted.

Re: temperature guage wiring
Is the second gauge definitely an electrical one? The 'thick copper wire' could be a capillary tube. Any pictures.

Re: Traveller rear roof
A completed wooden side bolted up to the B post and lightly supported at the rear should give you a more accurate line to work from. A spirit level on the roof mightn't be close enough, the springs could be uneven, the weight of the car (sans floor  ) will both cause a problem. Once it's finish...

Re: Traveller rear roof
Wont the roof be at the correct level once the new wood is on? Or has the floor collapsed to the point it cant support the timber sides

Re: Hot climate and mountain motoring
I guess that because the Mini fan is so small and the rad large in comparison there will be an air flow around it as the car is in motion and at idle the fan will push cooling air through, not advised for hot climates though me thinks

Re: Traveller wood rear post
Sounds about the same as mine, just the top centimetre. If you can get it in a dry garage and strip the varnish off and leave it to dry out for as long as you can then treat with Cuprinol and seal. I found the coating that had been applied by the previous owner actually held the moisture in and made...

Re: Engine problem.
If you've got a fuel filter fitted in the engine bay then get rid of it. They can be a source of fuel vaporisation and caused very similar problem on my car - dumped the filter and bye bye problem . Also check the mesh on the inlet side of the pump for debris.

Re: Hot climate and mountain motoring
Yes but that fan is pushing the air back through the radiator, as it's designed to do on a Mini with it's side mounted rad, but on the Minor the flow through the rad will stall when the car is moving. Declan said it's been fine for years, it just goes to show how over engineered the cooling system is.

Re: Traveller wood rear post
My travellers rear posts are going the same way :-? I recently did a repair where the waist rail meets the rear pillar and stripped and treated all the wood while I was at it. The top of the pillars were a little soft but by drying the wood out and treating with several application of Cuprinol 5 the...

Re: tappet cover leak
I've not tried the rubber ones but from what I hear I wouldn't bother. You say there is some vapour from the breather - is it the chimney type or just a pipe bent downwards, is there excessive vapour when you take the oil filler cap off? The chimney type should be connected to the inlet on the carb,...
