Re: LED bulbs anyone?

Hi,
Yes, replaced my rear / brake lights for greater rear visability (so others can see me!). Also panel lights and fitted 'Flashicator' bulbs in the trafficators, for the price it's a no brainer.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: Hub nut removal problems

That Bull Motif spanner seems the best way forward then.
I have ground out the concave part of the socket and checked that it has a flat surface to it but to no avail, it still can't grip properly and slips off.......
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: Faulty fuel pump? Options??

Indeed, you are just missing the drivers glovebox lid, though you might prefer to remove the catches and leave it open faced, it's up to you. It'll be a nice car when done.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: Is moggy insulting?

You really shouldn't knock Robins as they are very enviomentally friendly, the engines metal can be melted down and made into something useful and the car itself takes up no space in landfill whatsoever, just light a small fire and stand by with a dustpan and brush.......

Club HQ Open day.

Hi, Just wanted to say thanks to those who organised this, nice little outing and a very pleasant time indeed. Useful having club spares there as well, also finally bought Ray's book 'Original Morris Minor' and got him to sign it into the bargain :D. Always nice to meet fellow enthusiasts. Best wis...

Re: Hub nut removal problems

Don't forget that the LH/passenger/nearside hub nut has a left-hand thread, so turn clockwise to UNDO!! Thanks Islip, I have been trying that, as I re-read the section in the manual after struggling to get the drivers side off, looking for tips and advice and spotted the note about the thread direc...

Re: Signature picture

That said I've looked again at mine and another, both currently showing an 'image' tab (instead of the picture). I right clicked on both to 'open the image in a new tab', mine is hosted by the Potteries site and the one I looked up that appeared to have the same issue was hosted by 'smileys.on-my-w...

Re: Hub nut removal problems

Hi, I'm noting this post, as I'm having issues at present removing the rear wheel bearing retaining nuts on my car, the drivers side was eventually persuaded to come off but the passenger side is fighting................ I have a 47mm socket, however this 'springs off' a little too easily, so I wil...

Re: Signature picture

I see it on both my iThings with Safari. Do you see others sig pics?
Mostly, though there are one or two that are either 'obscured' or have a little 'x' in place.
Don't worry, I've given up on it for now.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Hi,
Just tagging along for now, I'll have a play when I have a new picture of Sally.
Geoberni has also mentioned a site he uses, which may prove simpler?
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: Rear indicators and hazzard lights not working

Hi, 1: Get hold of a workshop manual, they are invaluable. I recently rewired my car and it helped me no end. Imagine stereo instructions that actually make sense. 2: If you don't have one get hold of an electric screwdriver (for cars - it has an earth lead coming out of the back end of it). Attach...

Re: Signature picture

I didn't understand your post at all Mike because every post you make has a picture of your green Morris Minor at the bottom of it :-? Confused??!! You're not alone in being confused.com........... Basically, on any computer that I use to log onto this site I see no signature picture when I leave a...

Re: Signature picture

Only joking, it’s a lovely looking car No offence was taken, hence the 'lol'. She was a lovely car and I miss her, when money permits I will see if I can get hold of the purchaser and ask for 'first refusal'. In the meantime I have Sally to get on with. My signature image is hosted here for free: h...

Re: Faulty fuel pump? Options??

My personal contribution to this debate (which seems to have veered away from fuel pump advice considerably!) is that owners will, and do, carry out various 'alterations/modifications' to their cars Absolutely and there's nothing wrong with it, I am replacing my 803 with a 948, a far better engine....

Re: Faulty fuel pump? Options??

BUT: the car pictured in Jagnut's photo ain't a 1961 car as it has the wrong interior trim, heater and windscreen wipers, for starters I did say the interior shot was 'random' I looked up 1961 Morris Minor images online but they didn't have a matching interior shot...…. Suggest we all stop n...

Re: Faulty fuel pump? Options??

Geobernie is right, it's your car, you can do as you wish with it. We are not knowledgeable enough to ensure every single item is accurate for it's period Neither were the rest of us when we started down this road, so you're in good company. Here are some pictures of a 1961 convertible for you (wit...
