I have various bits of lifting equipment but I think im going to end up using a hoist - its only a little one though So... I don't suppose anybody knows (roughtly) what an ...

Re: Spotted today.
Anyone who sees a car on a public road can see its registration mark. The difference is if you wanted to find a registration no for, lets say, a white traveller to clone - you wouldn't hit the roads looking, but would jump on a specialist website or google images. Personally I wouldn't be fussed ab...

Re: Body shell salvage
Thanks all. I'll have a look at the bulkhead, I'm sure it's gone in the top corners. I did think about the rear window surround, I'll have a look once I've taken the glass out. I'm assuming it's worth keeping all the fittings? ie, handles, hinges, switches Yes its me looking for the bulkhead... the...

If still available I would like them...
They are the same as I have on my 1927 Cowley Pickup
I kept them for years before I found and appropriate car to put them on

You mean a bit like how a vehicle I have has mysteriously become subject to the LEZ in London over the last few months, despite having a letter me having a letter from 2013 saying its out of scope? The vehicle types affected by the LEZ haven't changed

Great shame it is too, certainly had some opinions that went against the "general wisdom" but was extremely good at sharing his knowledge and experience. RIP Roy

Re: Speedo Cable Replacement - Ford Type 9 ‘box
Some T9 boxes are fitted with an angle drive between the box and the cable itself - so there may be an intermediate step - but the speedo cable is secured to the type 9 with a circlip, remove this and the cable comes away

Re: Who's had the Covid vaccine? Anyone going to refuse it?
What I read yesterday/today is that - No AZ vaccines have gone from the EU to the UK (except a "tiny" batch) - The Vaccines that have come to the UK from the EU are the Phizer ones. - Phizer are meeting their commitment to the EU. - The UK is exporting components which are crucial to the p...

Re: Smart motorways - Go Left safety campaign
I broke down on an area of the M25 which was semi smart (i.e. still had the hard shoulder, but also had lane control). I was in traffic, doing about 20mph uphill in lane 3 of 4 and "tinkle, tinkle, pah" the engine cut out and the car stopped. Absolutely no chance to get over to the hard sh...

Don't worry about the order you undid the bolts, just make sure they are done up according to procedure
And as Phil says, remove the studs and it should all then move

Re: How do you know if a bolt is imperial or metric? (trying to work out what size these bolts are).
Some modern fasteners even have what Phil describes from the factory - normally those intended to form their own thread as they are forced in to an un-tapped hole
