My decision is based on the overheads of running the club which ( I presume ) would not be viable without the subscriptions . If all existing members decided to stop their contributions then the club headquarters and staff would become defunct . You pays your money and takes your choice . I’ve enjoy...

In the Youtube clip — is it my imagination or is the dynamo / coil moving more than the engine when the engine is revved ?

Quick comment - if you are driving away how do you know it slips ? Are you getting a squeal when driving off that you think is the fan belt ?
Check the belt for ‘ glazing ‘ - that might make it slip but I’m still uncertain how you have attributed the noise to the fan belt .

Take it back to the garage that fitted it - you paid good money to have it fitted and working 100%.

A remnant from a carpet shop is a good call . Cut it to size and then get the edges bound .

Interesting comment from geoberni , could it be the plug spanner catching on the plug as its removed and breaking the ceramic ????
