Re: Engine bay advice

If you are scrapping the old loom (dont, they are a great source of spare cable) then leave the terminals on their components so that you can see the wire colours. then label the spurs off the loom (wiper motor, coil, dynamo etc) putt out all the loom, do the painting and then when refitting, just r...

Re: do minors suffer from oversteer?

All (ok, most) Minors are RWD so oversteer is always an option ;) its worth checking all the suspension pickups are solid, all boltwork has been tightened correctly (bolts in bushes tightened when the weight is on them) Check your tyre pressures, minors are very light so they are succeptable to wron...

SPOTTED A34 Traveller with Wood

Hi all, Saw a traveller going south on the A34 earlier this week with a load of wood on the roof rack. I was in the dark Grey golf that overtook you and waved over the roof.

Re: Welding technique for bodywork

the copper is also useful to fill gaps if you have cut a panel short. Take the time to polish it to a bright shine to avoid any sticking.

For a cheeper option you can use flattened copper pipe but its not as good :)

Re: Recommended Compresor?

My advise is that once you have a compressor, you will find more and more uses for it. Go for the biggest you can afford and accomodate. Some of the big ones can draw an awful lot of current so its worth checking that your wiring is up to scratch and will take the load. Screw drive are very quiet bu...

Re: Welding Help

If you test your first welds that look fine by walloping with a hammer its amazing when the joint just falls apart as thers no strength or weld penetration but youll soon learn when you have a good weld. You can then do your first structural repairs. another good test is to listen whilst grindong. ...
