Doing a fair bit to Maude the traveller this year
It's been a while since I posted, Kermit the Mog is no longer with me and Maude is currently off the road and about to go on a rotisserie for extensive underseal removal and remedial works to a number of areas. Roy had told me long ago, before my ownership there were areas that needed work so I deci...

Re: Winter protection
One important bit of advice, never use warm water for washing a car in winter. Only use cold, the colder the better. Believe me the car won't mind a bit but the salt will be washed off in a much less reactive condition. Warm salt water solution is many times more corrosive than cold water salt solut...

Re: Rear window frame rust
No doubt about it, the window needs taking out and this fixing now. Remove window by cutting through rubber, use wire brush in drill on outside and inside if it's also corroded (after removal of headlining). It probably will be rusty inside as water sits in the rubber and gets held against the steel...

Re: Any advice on convertibles getting wet appreciated.
A big seconding of the fan method. I don't have a convertible but I have had rag tops in the past. My policy has always been, and continues to be run the car up to hot and remove all visible water with a chamois and put it away in the garage with an oscillating fan with car doors and windows, boot a...

It's a no brainer, astonished that you are struggling to accept their offer.
If you don't want to do it, point them to this thread and tell them to contact me. I'll supply a 1098 or 1275 from shed stock and let them rebuild it. I'll even pay shipping.

Your circumstances have changed as far as they are concerned.
You are now at the end of your agreed insurance period and they hope you have taken your eye off the ball.
Luckily, you have not.

There can be no doubt that Limeflower is and was the greatest colour ever to grace a Morris product. If I was brave enough I would change my OEW trav to Limeflower. But I'm not.
Great looking car.

Re: Knocking and bad cornering
Do the static checks on things mentioned first and then get it supported on the chassis legs with wheels still on but clear of the ground. You want wheels on to make it easier to find the problem. Now grasp each wheel in turn and give it a jolly good workout. In out, side to side, top to bottom, giv...

"Better to be feared than loved...."[/quote] That's rather a profound statement, I'm not sure many would agree but each to their own. Fear isn't an emotion I would experience if you approached my car "bonnet up" indeed, I'd welcome your interest. I'm sure many have a great respec...

Eyup Roy,
Installed water temp when I put the engine in last month.
Moved the ammeter down a bit and will get a 3 gauge surround at some point.

Re: MGF seats installed in Traveller
Seriously, after sitting in these TF seats, one wold not want to sit on a Minor seat ever again, as quaint and lovely as they are :D These bespoke posh seats are destined for my other minor, a saloon. I'll be putting red leather MGF seats in the trav so, possibly one day I will sell the originals. A...

MGF seats installed in Traveller
In case anyone ever wanted to know. MGF and TF seats fit a treat, you need to make subframes of course but the transformation to the drive and seating position is astonishing.
