Re: 1956 traveller 'special'

Well I don't intend on running it like that chris! far too ugly! Ignatzcatz- I value stories like yours as it makes me make sure I sort my car! I've order a themostat, as it wasn't running one(had a restrictor ring put in when gasket was done) but this hasn't helped, so thought I try thermostat, and...

Re: New MOT Certificates

I was told, by a MOT tester, that the main reason for the new type cert's is that the advisorys get printed on the mot, so car dealers can't hide what the car needs, like it's got a full ticket guvn'r . but now you can see that things that may need replacing etc. so quite useful IMO

Blimey Steve, Glad your ok, did you get some help from old colleagues. They did catch him, hope yours get...

Re: FITTING VAUXHALL ASTRA ENGINE,BOX AXLES TO A MOGGIE

Would you modify Big Ben with a digital working, or fit a diesel engine to the Flying Scotsman?? Of course not. However, replacing the steam engines in Tower bridge was a good idea. Modify only for excellence in engineering, not for bodgery. not modified for excellence in engineering, out of date a...

Re: 1956 traveller 'special'

:D thanks pgh. funny enough I had to drive it about 10 miles today, to the people who are fixing my inlet manifold gasket, and topping up the NOS bottle  apart from the poo weather it wasnt to bad, it has a 3500 stall converter so when you drive it you have to maintain 3500rpm for it to engage ...

1956 traveller 'special'

Hi Well I thought I'd start a thread on my new motor. It's a 1956 minor traveller with a blown 350 chevy engine, narrowed 9" full tube chassis, NOS, wheelie bars, it's totally mental to drive and will be back on the road before xmas, and will get to some shows next year. any how I'll let the pi...

Re: Engine and suspension swap -advice needed

How about the mx5 engine and box? No one has done it yet, but cant see why not... There are a few being built....... The engine is too long for the standard Minor engine bay though. I have seen the beardmore brothers fitted a minor shell to mx5 running gear, but that was a few years ago and nothing...

Re: FITTING VAUXHALL ASTRA ENGINE,BOX AXLES TO A MOGGIE

:o crikey, I don't normally get into this type of discussion, BUT for god sake he said 'JUST WONDERED' no need to shoot down his artistic licence. Everyone is entitled to there thoughts. I don't think it would destroy any of the cars character, FWD, 4x4, whatever. People should understand all he was...
