Re: oil/water sensors

Assumes an electric temp gauge - if using the (much better) mechanical gauge - the sensor bulb goes in that hole with an adapter piece which should really come with the gauge. If an electric gauge - be sure to supply it from the regulated volt supply (light green on the stabiliser on back of speedo...

Re: oil/water sensors

Oil gauge job is the easiest, water temp you must drain the coolant to fit. I can upload photos if needed as I have just fitted a neat dual gauge to my 803, which needed some clever modifications to fit the water temp sender, thanks to those people who helped me, some very good ideas. :D Thats very...

Re: oil/water sensors

1098, I did see the plug for the water sensor where you have described it and wondered.
And I believe I have all the bits ordered, threaded adaptor T piece etc and all to fit the oil pressure gauge.
Thanks for that, thats Saturday sorted :D

oil/water sensors

I have looked at various threads on the fitment of oil and temperature gauges, but failed miserably when looking to see photos of where the senders go.
Does anyone have pictures of where they fit said sensors please? or a good description?
Thanks.

Re: Where's the best place to find a moggy to buy?

I dont think its so much about a "good place to buy" but more about a good place to start. The essential buyers guide by Ray Newell covers most of the pitfalls and at just under a tenner is in my humble opinion a great help to newcomers to the marque like me. I bought a copy through the cl...

Re: Where can I get rad hoses WHICH FIT?

As a material silicone is more pliable than rubber and specified as having a higher working temperature. I think that may to some be overkill, but if you want superior flexibility thats the key. I have supplied silicone tube for various industrial applications and found it ok. Most of the Named deal...

Never thought of that.... Few more questions - how or what tools did you use to cut the slot and do you have any more pictures (or does anyone) showing the belt reel bolted to the back of the seat ? I just want to see what way it is orienated as I had a go with a belt reel in my shed earlier today ...

Re: electronic fuel pump

Fitted the new S.U. electro-mechanical pump today and keeping the old N.Z. pump in the boot as a spare just in case. I am pleased with the result, but even more pleased having found that the inlet pipe at the pump housing was held on with twined wire.(not a spelling mistake, not twinned but twined) ...

righto, thanks everyone for advice, and as a consequence, young members have clubbed together along with others, and a replacement engine sourced from wales. The amazing Matt Coles has made the epic trip from cardiff with it tonight, and has not long arrived in leeds. (see time of posting). It's du...

Well -I'm guessing that instruction above ^^^^^^^ is NOT for the A series engine !!!!!! The securing bolts (1/4" unf) have always had 7/16" AF heads in my experience......certainly NOT Whit or Metric anywhere on the engine.......... I assume you have knocked down the little lock-tabs. If ...

Do forgive me for this, but is the throttle cable passed through its associated Ferrule pin? before fitting it to the throttle linkage?
