Re: seatbelts

For my part regarding security, I have etched all the windows with the number plate, a kit is around £25.00 this deters cloners. I have fitted a battery car disconnect, £10.00 ish and use a disklock £100.00. The disconnect slows them down, the disklock is a virtually impenetrable Thatcham approved d...

I would like to see someone buy it, underseal it, get it on the road and enjoy it.
Stick a few tens of thousands of miles on it.
Preserved in aspic is not what it was intended for.

Just to reiterate above comments.
Clutch adjustment made all the difference.
It even altered the feel of the pedal box overall.

Re: tyre prices

Its only when you check back you realise that what you thought was a few months ago actually was a couple of years. I had 5 fitted, Nankang tyre, whoever they are, in March 2021, £56.65 each plus £54.00 to fit them. Prices shown include vat. I kept the old tyres as planters, so didn't have to pay to...

Re: heater hoses

Thanks for that. In the end I removed one side of the heater, the bit that blows on your feet and the drivers side glove box, that gave me better access. On replacing the heater on off valve, the mounting bracket on the new one fouls the rocker box cover, which I removed for access to the valve. I gr...

Re: Lockable glove box

Security. I found myself more concerned with losing the car and preventative methods. To that end I etched all the windows with the car number plate to ward off cloners. £25.00 Purchased a large disklok, £100.00 visible and time consuming for the tea leaf. Fitted a battery disconnect £5.00 And I lea...

Re: North East Help

Morning Laura, I am also based in N.E. England, I would suggest you could give Chris or Yvonne at Tom Roy a ring. They could help advertise the car for you. They are based near Great Ayton and are the areas specialist garage for Minors. You will get them here, http://www.tomroy.co.uk/content/home-pa...

Classic cars in the North East

For anyone in the north east of England, Ormesby hall are having a classic car show on the 2nd of July this year.
I have entered Doris, it would be good to see some other Minors there, its a national trust property with lovely gardens in a central location with all amenities.

I wonder if this little dicky is retained with an electronic ignition, as I have kept my points I wouldn't know.
But what I have experienced is the cable making and breaking, so I replaced it and my intermittent cut out went away.

Re: Right, seatbelts!

I marvel at the ingenuity of the originals. If ever a question mark should be raised toward "improvements" then redesigning the seat belts over the generations is one. But then I am an old curmudgeonly who firmly believes if it aint broke don't fix it. I did however fit rear seat belts tha...

Re: No, its NOT a Beetle

I have people waving, flashing their lights, saluting, doffing their caps etc. It's not due to terrible driving or the car being on fire. When I park up I often have conversations with former owners relating tales of how they drove their sidevalve MM to Munich or Italy or wherever. I am always very...

Re: No, its NOT a Beetle

We had a multi coloured Beetle up the road and a neighbour told me there was a car just like mine "up there" I gave him a lecture on Hitler's car for the people and then the development of the minor by a refugee from Smyrna. Ironically A refugee that Hitler would probably have had murdered...

What does your moggie run at Cold/hot ?

John ;-)
60 psi cold, 45-50 psi hot, but how accurate the gauge is is anyone's guess.
Also it depends on the revs at the time of course.
