Thanks guys - I've tried replying as per Phil's instructions (as well as every other permutation) but the system just deletes the name from the box when I hit 'add'.
I've used the reply function many times before but now it's refusing to play!

Unable to add name to send private message
Has anyone else had problems with the private message function, which won't allow you to enter the name of the recipient?
I've tried copying and pasting, clicking 'add' and every possible permutation of adding the name but it still doesn't work!

And thank you, too, Phil - that's really helpful.

Re: Fitting hazard warning lights - correct wires?
Thanks Geoberni However, I’m afraid I can’t make sense of wiring diagrams, so I can’t understand which is the wire than runs from the ignition switch to the live terminal of the flasher unit, as cited by the instructions! (I’ve carried out all kinds of of mechanical work on my Morris but I’m afraid ...

Re: Fitting hazard warning lights - correct wires?
Hi Geoberni – thanks for your continuing help with this, it’s much appreciated. Yes, I think you are right about the bright green wire feeding the tell-tale light on the indicator – the fact that it is thinner than the others would certainly suggest it’s dealing with less power. I popped out the spe...

Re: Fitting hazard warning lights - correct wires?
Hi Geoberni Thanks for your response. My car is a ’66 model and the wiring is original. My reference to the wire that needs to be cut is taken from the instructions, which read: ‘Cut the wire that goes from the ignition switch to the live terminal (usually marked ‘B’) on the existing flasher unit. T...

Fitting hazard warning lights - correct wires?
Has anyone fitted a hazard light switch kit from ESM or Brum Minor Centre/David Manners Group (it has six leads and a built-in flasher module) who could share their experience? I’ve identified what I think is the correct live feed source and wires under the dash, but want to check before I start fit...

Re: How to identify a stainless steel exhaust
Thanks guys It looks to be a very small leak in the joint where the pipe enters the silencer - there's no noise but I happened to notice a few millimetres of black discolouration where it's been blowing, when I was greasing my trunions. The exhaust has been on the car for some 25 years, so I can't c...

How to identify a stainless steel exhaust
Does anyone know how to identify stainless steel? I think the exhaust on my car may be stainless - but only because it's not rusted and still has a silvery appearance. It's made by Walker. (I'd read that magnets won't stick to stainless but a test on kitchen cutlery proved that not to be the case!) ...

Does trimming ride-height affect tracking?
I’ve just rebuilt the front suspension with new rubbers, and trimmed the ride height (half-inch higher on left) but noticed the steering wheel is now turned very slightly to the right. I'm now wondering if the adjustment in ride height has altered the tracking? There is no mention in any of my manua...

Re: 'All-in' timing for 1275?
Thanks Phil, that's great.
I take it you mean setting the all-in timing as a starting point, and then tweaking it on the road?
(I was concerned about high-speed detonation caused by over-advanced timing, which is apparently very difficult to detect.)

'All-in' timing for 1275?
Could anyone recommend the number of degrees ‘all-in’ advance and appropriate revs for setting the ignition timing on a 1275 Marina engine? I understand that checking ignition timing ‘all-in’ at about 3,000rpm is more accurate than checking at idle speeds. However, the workshop manual doesn’t list f...

Rubbers for window frame/door joint - where can I buy?
Does anyone know where I might get replacement rubbers for the window frame/door joint next to the ‘B’ pillar? It’s the squiggly bit of rubber that lips over the edge of the door frame above the handle and provides a cushion for the base of the window frame. Can't seem to find anything listed by the...

Temporary rust protection for recent metalwork repairs
Could any bodywork experts advise me whether it is worth me spraying recent metalwork repairs with WD40 until the weather is warm enough to spray it with Dinitrol (which needs to be applied at a minimum of 15 degrees)? The repairs I want to protect are quite inaccessible, so I wouldn’t be able to wi...

Best way to Waxoyl Minor’s nooks and crannies?
Has anyone been able to find a good way of getting Waxoyl into all the Minor’s nooks and crannies? I thought I’d given my Morris a good dousing using the Waxoyl pump and cavity spray tube, but some recent body work has revealed that the spray didn’t reach all the corners! When I originally rust-proo...
