Re: Hi
Also aftermarket rear tele dampers, nice upgrade. It looks like the toyota gearbox to me, but don't take that as gospel. You will find some more pictures and info about this conversion by doing a search on this forum, or http://morrisminorowners.co.uk/index.php forum.

Have u checked tie bar nut is tight, both ends both sides? Neither is bent, and both are a good snug fit.

Re: Front Tyre wear/Camber Angle
Unfortunately full round washers are a pain to install, hence the use of U shaped ones! Get a variety/a few U shaped washers made up, then go down to your local 4 wheel alignment garage (I can recommend a very good one if your in the north-west) Or if not have a look on here.. http://www.alignmycar....

Re: Hi
Agreed on the frenched rear lights, look very nice! Getting tyres for original wheels isn't difficult, online is easy. But people generally fit these wider van rims (or banded steels, esm wide wheels etc) as they give a good performance handling upgrade! and your local tyre fitter should have tyres ...

Have you seen the thread fitting one on the mmo forum? He too fitted one with just a very thin, slightly bent actually iirc radiator. Best of luck with this conversion! Keep us updated

Re: Cruising speed ?
Chill out---you get wound up too easily. If you want to do 50, well no one can stop you but it is unexpected behavior on a motorway, possibly causing approaching vehicles to slow dramatically whilst waiting for the next lane to present a gap, (we all know what happens when brake lights suddenly app...

Re: Myrtle is leaking something!
Yes, dont drive the car at all with a leaking brake cylinder! Its moments away from a full on failure possibly! Whip the wheel and drum off, and see if there is fluid everywhere. Also wherever the fluid has already got, the paint will strip off..

I use mine everyday, I do 500+ miles a week atm! So obviously she is used hard, but well maintained, and has imo sensible modifications to cope with this.

Re: Am I a criminal?
It depends what the minor is running with regards to extra electrics. Many fit a radio (and possibly amp), heated screens etc.. Also a lot easier to source a replacement alternator locallychickenjohn wrote:I don't understand the need to fit an alternator. Dynamo on a Minor is fine!

Things will just be getting boring.. Love a bit of a sleeper, looks like a standard minor externally, but with all the modern comforts and reliability of a modern engine and drivetrain, and uprated suspension and interior! You may as well drive a modern car! and Minors can be reliable with proper m...

Re: Cruising speed ?
Anyone driving a car that is going so slowly that forces lorry's to move out into the middle lane, which slows down all the traffic on the motorway (selfish) and is frankly more dangerous.. Driving at 56, same speed as lorries is very common in these cars though, they sit very happily at it, and its...

Re: RIDICULOUS INSURANCE PRICES???
One insurance company can not be cheapest for everyone!! Stop complaining about FJ just because you got a better quote elsewhere. Other insurance companies that are cheaper for some people only insure very 'safe' drivers, lots of ncb etc etc. FJ will however insure basically all moggy owners, includ...

It would make a difference if you just did the front. Go for this suspension kit as its far superior.. http://www.jlhmorrisminors.co.uk/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=3 They now use avo over spax I believe as they found them to be superior. If you wish you can match it with a rear kit ei...

Re: Which Socket?
NOTHING on a Minor is metric..... DO NOT use metric sockets or spanners.... Not true, over the years a few nuts and bolts may well have been replaced by metric ones by a previous owner.. Also If a metric happens to fit better due to a damaged/corroded nut bolt etc I see absolutely no reason why not...

Surely most lcb's will be fitted along with a hs4 or hif38 though.. Do YOU still believe this set up will loose you 'power'? And obviously the torque vs top end discussion..bmcecosse wrote:An LCB on a standard 1098 engine will probably LOSE power - not gain it.......

Who cares if it's technically got tappets or not?! Alex said he had a 'tappety' noise... not a tappet noise. An engine can make a 'pinking' noise without being pink! Alex, have you made any progress with your problem? Thanks, tbh no not yet, but having checked the gaps again, they seem fine still a...
