Re: Another minor id for sale! When is it going to stop?

Just asked the seller "What possible use is this other than for re registering a stolen vehicle or fraudulently changing the identity of a Morris?". He came straight back: "Up to the buyer what they choose to do with it." Can't see a way of reporting this to Ebay, wonder if DVLA ...

Re: Speedo is miles out

These tyre calculators are ok for approx comparisons but don't take them too seriously. They tend to use pi (3.1417 approx) to calculate the circumference which might work for a solid tyre but certainly not for a radial tyre. A radial has a 'flat bit at the bottom' and it is a little more complex th...

Re: Spotted today.

Returned to Bertie and saw a '50's 2 dr Chevrolet Coupe 'moored' in B+Q car park Whitstable and spotted a J reg Limeflower Traveller (XKX?) leaving. Followed for 200 yds before parting company. I can't remember seeing a Minor in Limeflower since I was in flares and must admit that I used to think of...

Re: paint colour, different shades?

My Smoke Grey is nothing like other Minors! Guy who painted it insists it is correct. I don't mind and rather like it but couldn't use a can for touch up.[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1445998774_20490 [/frame] This photo makes it look more like Bermuda but was taken before I sorted the ...

If anybody does own the car I think I know the original owner's family.

A Commercial Christmas

Was summoned into a Laura Ashley store this afternoon and was making suitable noises and trying to look interested when I spotted this:[frame]Image[/frame]
Wonder if they do them with headlamp brows?

Re: Security

The trackers on Ebay are as cheap and could be hidden in the wheresits. With a basic SIM with no monthly charge they can be traced from a smart phone and do all sorts of tricks (even listening in to what the thieves are saying!). Bit pointless though if the thieves use a jammer(?).

Million Dollar Question

Well a 1,000,000 question anyway. I attended Agnes Road Junior School between 1959 and 1963 and remember a Morris Million living opposite the school at, I believe, Globe Coaches, a firm that was still in existence quite recently. The car was Barnsley registered 'HE' and I think may have been RHE, pr...

Re: Security

I keep removing the steering lock and forgetting to thingy my wotsits so the engine splutters after a few hundred yards. I aim to fit a thingamy to gently remind me/ deter the enthusiastic thief. I was keen to fit a tracking device, which is about £30 on Ebay, but noticed that wotsits were even less...

Re: Did you ever buy a brand new Minor?

We were an Austin family with grand parents' Austin GS1 10 and A40 Cambridge when Dad swapped his Austin 12/4 for his one and only brand new car, a split screen 2 door Minor in 1956. At 15 in 1967, I was still faithful to Austin and bought an Austin 7 to restore whereas Dad's '56 Minor had been scra...

Reducing Emissions

I have been concerned for some time at reducing exhaust emissions from the A series and following on from the pioneering work of Professor Karl von Trixt of Wolfsburg University have now developed a system for drastic reductions in emissions from the Morris Minor. The modifications are relatively si...

Re: Nuisance call blocking

Will shortly be moving into our new house and don't intend having a fixed phone. Will have a line for internet but may just use our mobiles which rarely get cold calls. Is there anything similar to prevent nuisance calls to mobiles?
