Rocker Cover

As I have some time on my hands I have stripped an old rocker cover of its paint and repainted ready to replace the alloy one I have
What labels / Stickers go on it ?
It’s a 67 model
Some pics would be good

Re: 1275 timing marks

For the moment Im going to assume my timing is there or there abouts
It runs well enough but I wanted it spot on before tuning the carb
So from what I have read a adjust the timing and test drive until it starts to pink and then back it off
Is that right ?

Re: SU fuel Pump

My pump looked a bit ropey and the cap was cracked and now it’s broken altogether So I’m thinking replacing it I did get it going but the engine is running roughly so I think it’s intermittent There appears to be 2 types , one is electronic (aua66e) There’s £30 difference in price Is it worth it and...

There was a small screw which when undone released the points

Re: 1275 timing marks

Thanks Declan
Phil pointed me in the direction of your original post
Just need to know if the vacuum advance needs disconnecting when checking the 22 degrees and at what revs

Re: 1275 timing marks

Yep
I’m going do that
Looking at past posts from Phil I’m going to put the engine at TDC, mark another TDC where I can see it and also 7&22 degrees BTDC
When checking timing at say 4000rpm do you need the vacuum advance connected ?

Re: problems starting

I don't want this to develop into an argument about terminology when what we want to do is to assist the OP, but a definition of a solenoid is "A solenoid is a type of electromagnet, the purpose of which is to generate a controlled magnetic field through a coil wound into a tightly packed heli...

Re: Fuel gauge

If you have a multi meter check the continuity between the terminal on the sender and earth
If it’s high (infinity) then the coil is likely to be open circuit and will require replacement.
The test you have already carried out proves the gauge and wiring

Yep Seen that Declan
I can’t run to that at the moment
I wouldn’t mind getting a knackered one and trying to refurb my self if it’s structurally sound
I will keep my eyes open
