Perhaps they could fly past and drop gallons of water onto the campsite, providing both entertainment and showers for those that require them?

I know what I don't want at the National next year - Clowns

Large shoes and oversized pockets scare me.

the only problem with that is that the hours the aircraft fly is strictally limited to 50 for the whole year encluding training fligts and air tests.it would be very nice though.a good show to go to is the one at little gransden it has a air display as well.that was my first national rally and i thaught that it was poor.i know the weather was a major factor but you need to get people envolved in something, you could get a falcanry display or a demo on how to do your own servicing as a newcommer i would find this very helpful

Why all the picking on committee pepole? Without them there would be no National, no branches, no message board, no Minor Matters, and no club. I'd like to see everyone who's so damn critical take three paces forwards and volunteer to work for nothing for the whole year just so that other people can (a) enjoy themselves and (b) criticise those doing the work. I've had views that differ from those of some of the committee, yet found (without exception) that the committee are warm, friendly, helpful, and hard working. I say thanks to every single one of them for the hard job that they do, whether they happen to be in a Minor, a hula skirt, or just up to their knees in mud.

I think that the comments were made in jest really Simon :D
It is a fact that we rely on volunteers largely for the running of the club, and this is appreciated to a great extent. It is also true that not everyone can, or wishes to volunteer their services, yet are quite at liberty to criticise those who do. Not all committee decisions, in my opinion have been the 'right' ones over the years and they have deserved a degree of this.
I'd rather think that comments and criticism are seen as a point to move on from rather than dwell on.
Its unfortunate too that not one member of the committee has been able to come onto the forum to explain the issues that we all experienced at the National. We are after all members of a club which seems not to communicate too well at times. I think that a statement could have been drafted and posted on this forum, which would not have required further comments, but would at least offer some explanation of the difficulties encountered.

retires from my soap box....
:D
