Hi, new member here
Hi out there, I have a 1959 Morris called 'Percy' that I use to drive for many a happy year. It has now been stored for approx 22 years. About 4 years ago I desperately wanted to drive it, so had assistance in changing battery, tyre plugs etc and guess what - it only started on the 3rd or 4th time !! couldn't believe it.
Well I'm now in a position to renovate it, I know of the Birmingham and Bristol Morris Centres but not sure which one to choose. Has anyone got suggestions or experiences from either of those places?
It needs a lot doing to it, will cost a fortune I know, but I only intend to do it once so its got to be good. Even thinking of converting it - suggestions?
Would like your opinions, experiences. Not going to sell it after, just want to enjoy the experience of having it in mint conditon.
Don't want to put seat belts on, would like to expose the trafficators again as these had been plated up. Anyway would welcome your advise.

If you're not in a hurry, ESM do very high quality restoration work. They are not quick, they are not cheap but the quality of workmanship is top notch.
Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Will speak to Andy at Charles Wares thanks. Not in hurry so that doesn't matter, obviously just want to take it to one place ideally to get everything done, right up to respray.
Thanks for your help. Julie
Does these companies concentrate on Morris Minors only? Would they do absolutely everything there?MoggyTech wrote:East Sussex Minors (ESM) do quality work, as does John Merrit of Mid Sussex Minors. My traveller took 6 months to restore, but it was worth it.
Will look them up for teleno. and get in touch thanks.

Yes, both ESM and MSM are purely Morris Minor Specialists. If you Google East Sussex Minors you will find their website, which gives details on their Parts and Workshop Departments. It's worth following some guidelines if you have a car restored for you.JAT wrote:Does these companies concentrate on Morris Minors only? 1: Agree on work needing done
2: Get a quote
3: Make sure you ask to see the work they do, and inspect the garage.
4: Make sure they will let you pop in to inspect the work during the resto
5: Get a guarantee on all work done.
