What colour on a Minor? - POLL

Post by WebEditor »

Ok, so let's do this properly. This isn't an exaustive list on every single Minor paint colour, but most of the ones from the Topic started by brixtonminor. Some of the names of the standard colours are pretty confusing - isn't Smoke Grey actually a pale blue? What IS the difference between Maroon and Maroon B? :o [/b]

Maroon B is a later colour, used on later 1000s. Maroon was available very early on, and is a different shade, I think.

Smoke grey is indeed blue.

Nice to see that black appears to be winning - and no, I didn't vote more than once!!

white has a tendency to look awful on any car that is less than immaculate though, which with the best will in the world, probably describes most minors. Please don't shoot me!

The best colour for a Minor is the colour YOU want it.

Unfortunately there is not button for this.

I've always thought a minor would look rather nice in Royal Blue...

I've seen a traveller in royal blue somewhere - very nice indeed.

I think travellers and sallons (and convertibles, vans pickups?) suit different colours. I like white or maroon travellers, but green or blue saloons. Actually, I quite like green travellers too - oh I just can't decide!!!

I don't like that mucky brown colour and am not particularly fond of Clipper Blue.

Hello everyone, First point:

I prefer a mid blue myself, clipper blue for example.
I also believe that unless your car has some historic significance and if you are restoring the car yourself why not choose a suitable modern colour?.
You will have no problems matching it and you can get touch up/respray paint at any paint factors. anywhere and anytime. :D

Second point:
JUST HOW THE HELL DO YOU VOTE ON THESE POLLS ANYWAY ????????????????? :(

I think it very much depends on the model.

Travellers look great in most shades of Blue particularly Trafalgar or Teal (See why on the cover of Sept/Oct 2003 'Matters'). Not so keen on blues for saloons or convertibles. Black looks great on the earlier saloons but only if shiny (lots of work).

Modern colours can look really nice (front cover of Nov/Dec 2003 'Matters') and Kirsty (Rally Roundabout Editor) has a rather nice metallic red on her 2 door saloon.

I think that vans look stunning in olive green with gold signwriting (nice one on last w/ends Lord Mayor's show).

Really though, they are all nice, even the ones in two tone rust and flaky paint. If they are are a friend to someone, who cares what they really look like!
