In order to get full recognition and make sure everyone's safe and happy, I think it would be an excellent idea to appoint a nominated "Chairperson" or (I daren't say this) a rally "committee" to take responsibility for the event.
Yes wondered about all that. Fortunately we are (nearly) all fully paid up members.
Also I copied Rosie Hamilton on some communication about this already.
WebEditor,
Feel free to present it to the comittee - that way we'll be allowed to use the MMOC name for it all. The downside of it is all the red tape + being accountable etc.. as mainly we are getting together as a meet and greet, with the other events added on as a bonus.
Excellent....I'll bring along my virtual Minor
Well, I think you are duty bound to bring along a real Minor!
Please can you nominate (yes/no) if you would like to come... ;-)

Does this mean you're nominating yourself as Chaiman??

My virtual Minor is now virtually ready to be seen at rallies!

WebEditor,
Hi Andrew (I think you are Andrew, not Billy, but it's late! ;-))
ready to be seen at rallies!
Great!! I'll stick you down on the list then!!

I thought I'd copied you on a mail a few days ago, but sent it to webmaster@morrisminoroc.co.uk , and now I think that's Billy!
It's all very confusing without using names :-?

Well there's been a bit of prompting, so we should nominate someone to be chairperson (chief dogsbody)
Anyone willing - please PM me and we'll put it to the vote.

I'll say 25th Jan as a cut off as that's including 2 weekends so should give a fair chance to most people.

Also there has been rather a lack of alternative suggestions to Gaydon (who still haven't replied) and/or any other suggestions for activities.
Thinking caps on everyone..........

As soon as things become definite please let me know and I will arrange for inclusion of details in the next 'Matters'.

Despite what you may have seen elsewhere recently on this message board we are keen to include details of all events of interest to Minor owners!

Well didn't get any volunteers.. guess I'll nominate myself to take the flack.
Be warned though as work has a habit of getting in the way of any real world commitments..

I havn't commented on this before, as I havn't been around here much lately, but I would like to go where ever it is.

I'm also now feeling quite confident in my moggy after driving for seven hours virtual non-stop around devon and somerset last week (why?... cos I felt like it and had nothing better to do!)

So I hope to meet you all, wherever and whenever it is.

Cheers,
Chris

July 17th is my sister's wedding.... Guess I'd better not miss that then....
I'll try to make it, can we go for South Midlands, if we go Midlands.

Birmingham can be a complete son without a father most of the time & some of us will have to contend with the M25 too; double bubble!!

Hi Ray

I've just had a thought (no comments about it being "a lonely one please"). Why don't you contact Branch and Register Liaison Officer Rosie Hamilton (rosie.hamilton@morrisminoroc.co.uk) about the proposed website rally?

She should be able to give you lots of advice and help to pass it through committee. NB there's a committee meeting at the end of March, I'll mention it then.

I had sent an e-mail with the details to her also.
If she doesn't read e-mail, please let me know... but it is shown in her contact details in the mag so I thought that would be ok.

If you could bring it up at the committee that would be good thanks.

Yes, I have contacted Rosie through e-mail before and she usually replies quite quickly.

Well an update is long overdue..
Gaydon will offer us discounted entry of £6 to the car museum
A museum ticket gets you a further discount off the other stuff (go-carts and off roading)

If numbers get high (50 to 100) then there are rally packages, with coned off parking, Marshalls etc.. but seen as that starts at £250 it looses the appeal - wouldn't want to add an extra £5 just so people can park
They will let us gather for free, if places are limited to say 30, but we don't get marshalls and a coned off area (sounds good to me).

Next step - I'll try and find some time to pass details via Rosie again, and also a quick chat to Andrew, who is going to tell the comittee all about it.... (and if that doesn't get us in the mag, I'll scowl for months..)
