If we're going for the South East might I suggest Brooklands Museum? (about 20 miles West of London and just off the M3, M25). It's a fascinating place with loads of historic racing cars (including the amazing Napier Railton) and most of the British aircraft built there (including a Concorde, the Sultan's luxury VC-10 and the Wellington bomber fished out from Loch Ness). A part of the famous banking remains from the original racing oval. It was the first racetrack in Britain & world records were set there until the 1930s. It has loads of parking space and you can actually drive on the banking for about 1/4 mile.

It also has a very pleasant cafe which is slightly cheaper than Gaydon's ( :o) and there's lots to look at indoors if it rains. Oh, plus a couple of Moggie pick-ups in the DanAir livery and a small Formula 1 exhibition.

I might make a point of lubricating your trainers Dan - perhaps then you'll set a new speed record on the banking?

Brooklands sounds like a good idea. Curator Julien Temple is your Moggy Man there. He's provided copy for Minor Matters in the past.

First video wot I (web-Tarantino-editor) shot at Gaydon is now available in the Downloads section of the Members Site.

Brooklands sounds like a great place to have the next rally.

If it were to go ahead, would it be as part of the Morris/Austin Day in March, or as a stand-alone gathering some other time???

:D
1971 3.9 litre V8 Pick-Up - At least most of the bodywork is original!
Hibernating - Shhhhhhhhhhhhh!

We could do the joint Austin/Morris day in March but that means we risk missing each other, and the weather at that time tends to be poor. I would prefer late Spring or early Summer.

Julien Temple is the owner of the Dan Air pickups and a moggie enthusiast with a very good sense of humour. On May 05th I was on the M25 following some sections of the Concorde being delivered to Brooklands. After viewing it's arrival I got into my mog (parked by the Harrier jump jet) and Temple Julien leant down to my window (I didn't know who he was at the time of course).

JT ' Excuse me do your know that your Morris Minor is unique'?
CM 'Err no...why's that then'?
JT 'Because it's the only Morris Minor which has ever overtaken a Concorde'!

Well nice to meet a few of the Virtual people in the flesh and I think a good day was had by all those that managed to make it
I would also like to say thanks to Ray and everyone that turned out. Lesley and myself really enjoyed the day and from the recent postings it looks as though this could become an annual event to look forward to.

Just the one why? Unfortunately I am not built like Zaphod Beeblebrox so I only have the two hands! (Erm... you might not get that one, being young and all  )

The trick was zooming and focusing!! :o Oh and clearing the screen so that the camera focuses on the car in front and not the dead flies!!

We need a local volunteer to pick out a suitable venue....
Fweddy or myself can help out there  .

That's very decent of you Scott. Where shall I get Qantas to send the bill?
Not sure about shipping my mog over for the event though....

P.S. - I'm the big bloke on the left wearing the black sweatshirt.

Yes thanks ! :) And I didn't find any oil dripping down last night after coming home from work (4 miles) so I guess it was caused by thrashing it on the Motorway.

Phew - glad I wasn't doing the inviting there Scott - looks like you might end up with a financial problem. What location were you thinking of? Sydney? I might use Air New Zealand.

Whoa, I didn't mention anything about covering costs. It's hard enough for me to cover my own.
Just thought I'd help out with a venue. :D Plenty of open spaces here & usually no chance of rain ( :( ).

Gee Chris, if you don't know your own address, how do you expect me to know?

Ray, I'm sure I can do this. It shouldn't be a problem unless we have a lot more cars next year - there's enough parking for 100s of cars. The only problem is that Brooklands is very busy at weekends with other car clubs so we may have to double up.

Scott - cheers, I know where I live! I was hoping you were super-rich and wanted to fly all of us over.
