Re: Spotted today.
Spotted katies car outside b&q.
BTW, your tyres look like your tracking is/was way out! The outside 1/3rd of your near side front was looking pretty bare.... otherwise a lovely vehicle though.

i got quoted £25 to get my tracking done - i will get it done this month
- remember, katie, you need at least 1.6mm of tread over the central 3/4 breath of the tyre with no groves/ visible damage to the tyre walls

For something like that I'd be wary of doing it yourself...(?)Matt Tomkins wrote:thanks - i'll shop around before i go for that, then! - i've not got alot of time at the moment to diy it, but will keep it in mind for the future - what would you say is a fair price?bmcecosse wrote:£25 to get the tracking set ?????????? I've been quoted from £20 up to £36 for mine. ATS have a 20% off voucher on their website & they are about £25 before the discount.

Re: Spotted today.
Sounds about right if you think what a big garage /tyre place labour rate is. I'd expect it to take about 1/2hr from firsat getting the car on the ramp to finished job, even for a slight tweak and its probably a realistic minimum charge for half hours work. Can also be longer if nuts are siezed and rack gaitors won't spin on the steering rack arms.KatiePotatie wrote:For something like that I'd be wary of doing it yourself...(?)Matt Tomkins wrote:thanks - i'll shop around before i go for that, then! - i've not got alot of time at the moment to diy it, but will keep it in mind for the future - what would you say is a fair price?bmcecosse wrote:£25 to get the tracking set ?????????? Probably a less mainstream garage may charge a tenner for the tea fund or something like...

Re: Spotted today.
I agree entirely with Iain, £25 sounds about right. Like BMC I wouldn't pay it - because I can do it myself, but I have a four post lift etc. However it represents the half hour or so of garage time that is required to have it done professionally. I would want to make sure the rack and wheel are centred correctly too in that price though.
