Peening Tool?

Post by mollythemoggie »

Hi All,
I was looking at buying a matched lock set for my car but was under the impression you needed to un-peen the boot lock shaft, remove the bell to get to the securing pin for the boot lock barrel..

is there any chance there is a tool that could re-peen the shaft post unpeening?

Cheers,
Tom

Just drill a small hole through the shaft in the correct spot and put a small cotter (split) pin through the hole and spread the ends. Then next time you take it apart you won't have to worry about "unpeening" it. :) :)

Try beer drinking or chasing women, some of my favourite vices :-).
