Wow, that is one chunky monkey. Does that mean (excuse my ignorance) that all the later Minors have Austin derived gear boxes?

yep from 1952 when the 803cc a series came in all minors had the austion/ bmc gear boxes. 918cc sidevaleves finished in 1953
