Hi there. I went along. Will try and get some pics up. Behind me at the cavalcade line up was a guy in a green minor foor door that I had a chat with. Come say hi or pm me. Good day, even had some sun!

Re: who went to brooklands?
me and the missus went. really good day! weather was nice despite the chill. didn't get to chat to many folk, but did meet cmea!
was disappointed that you were only allowed up the hill if you were in a pre 1940 car. but if i had been allowed to take mine up, i probably would've embarrassed myself!

I went too
Met Chris - and agree it was very disappointing not being allowed to go up Test Hill. I don't think you would of embarrassed yourself Chris - its a lovely looking 4dr you've got (and misses ). The wheels look brilliant and the stance is fantastic.
Had a great day, unfortunately camera problems meant I don't have any photos, so anyone with photos please share them.
My daughter really enjoyed the cavalcade but, got worried when she saw the cars lining up on the banked track after the cavalcade - she thought we were all lining up for a race!
Enjoyed the drive back - had a bloke in a new Jag wave and give me the thumbs up several times on the A3. He kept slowing down to let me overtake and got quiet excited about the car. My daughter then asked "Dad do we really stand out?" To which I replied "well, yes, there are not many Morris Minors on the roads, and of those there are even less pick ups, and of those few have wide wheels, in fact the only way we could stand out more is by painting it a bright colour" - so perhaps I should return it to GPO yellow!
Great day, brilliant weather.

I was there, shook hands with Aupickup and missed the hill climb as I was eating lunch.
Some cracking cars there, especially liked a little sports car with a 3 cylinder engine, and an Austin 7 that had been all over South America and from Peking to Paris too!
I got a video of the "aero"* engine mounted on the back of a Minor commercial starting and running.
* actually a Daf 750cc.

Re: who went to brooklands?
cheers for all the compliments cmea!
we had a guy in a new jag overtake us on the M40 and wave and stick his thumb up! can't imagine it was the same one!
even though i got home 3 hours ago, i can still hear my engine ringing in my ears. was rather impressed with my fuel consumption, averaged 40mpg doing 70 all the way there and back. can't complain at that considering my set-up!

40 mpg - There are times I wish I had a tuned 1275 instead of the twin cam! My fuel consumption was more like 25 mpg maybe 30mpg at best, although I do have a heavy foot!
