6 and a half pints or 3.7 litres , as per Leyland manual.Use a good quality 20w50 oil, some of the cheaper oils have been recycled , I used Halfords classic 20w50 recently and am pleased with it .

according to the chap in classic oils (the most useful shop to have locally!), the helfrauds 20/50 is just the same as the comma 20/50 but repackaged and more expensive :p

I'm privileged with this shop on my doorstep. every make of 20/50, fuel additives etc etc in a warehouse at very reasonable prices! -- i think they even do mail order, as well as shows etc. they're called 'classic oils'

I think there's only about three brands of quality 20/50 now, Duckhams, Millers, and Morris. Possibly others but those three have very good reputations in the Classic Oil market.

Nothing wrong with Wilko/ASDA/Morrison 20W 50 oil - if you can find any! Nothing wrong with recycled oil either - after all - your drinking water has been recycled many times too......

don't some of those cheeper oils have a high detergent level, and are thus likely toi stir up sludge etc from the bottom of the engine and cause you issues?
