400 quid for a moggy?

Post by Arthurdaily »

Hi all, do you think 400 quid for a running and not too rusted 71 registered saloon is too steep? I wanted to buy it for parts really, but it seems quite reasonable except for surface bodywork rust...

But there are a lot of parts I need on it...

Decisions decisions...!

You should not be breaking perfectly good cars for spares, either find one that is beyond repair or buy new parts

It seems a shame to break a good car. Are spares in such short supply?

Parts are still plentiful. Good restorable cars less so.

A reasonable car should really not be broken now.

I have decided to go ahead and by this car and try and restore my first moggy... wish me luck, when I get it I'll start a restoration thread... which might be going for several years ha ha..

I used an angle grinder for the first time yesterday, and a welder for the first time last week...

So maybe several decades!
