Welcome to the MMOC message board! :D

The board is very active and full of useful advice and information relating to Morris Minors. It doesn’t matter what type of Minor you have, or even if you don’t have one but have an interest in Minors, all are welcome. Please take a look at the following information which you may find useful when using this site.

Terms & Conditions: Like most internet forums, when registering on this messageboard you have agreed to adhere to some terms & conditions which are there to assist with the smooth running of the messageboard. Please ensure that you read and understand these before posting.

Location : Once you have registered on the messageboard it is a good idea to show your location so that we know where you are and can point you in the right direction if you need some ‘local’ advice, parts etc. To enter your location click on the ‘user control panel’ at the top left hand side of the page and click on the ‘profile’ tab. Enter your location and click on the 'submit' button.

Join the Club: In addition to providing this messageboard the MMOC offers a number of services and benefits to club members, including a stock of hard to get parts for earlier cars and a bi-monthly magazine. You can join the Club or renew your subscription on-line by clicking here: http://www.mmoc.org.uk/index.php?key=Membership

Find your nearest MMOC branch here: http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewforum.php?f=30

Posting a message: Posting a message is easy. First, look at the message board index and find the ‘forum’ that best fits your query / message. For example if you have an engine query post your message in the ‘mechanical’ forum. Towards the top left of the page you will see a red ‘new topic’ button. Click on this and a text box will open. Type in a subject heading that best suits your message content, type your message in the box and press the ‘submit’ button. If you want to see what your message looks like before posting click on the ‘preview’ button. If you have a specific query try using the ‘search’ facility before posting (top right hand corner of the page) as you may find the answer to your question has already been posted.

To reply to someone else’s message just click on the red ‘post reply’ button at the bottom left of the message you wish to reply to and follow the same procedure as above.

Posting a photo: Posting a photo is simple as you can load photos directly from your PC. Just follow the instructions here: http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=31197

Reporting a message: Moderators regularly visit this site to review postings but it is not always possible to read every message posted. If you see a message which you consider does not adhere to the messageboard terms & conditions, or needs to be brought to the attention of the site moderators for any other reason, please use the ‘report this post’ button. This is the red exclamation mark symbol contained within a triangle at the top of every message and will ensure that the message is ‘flagged up’ and easily identifiable to the moderators.

Looking to buy a Morris Minor? : There is some useful advice here if you are looking to buy a Minor:

Parts & Repairs:After purchasing your Morris Minor you may need to buy parts or get professional repairs carried out but it can be difficult to know which trader or supplier to use.

If you’re not sure who to use it’s a good idea to seek recommendations from others who have used the trader or supplier in question. If you are looking for recommendations post a message here or alternatively your local MMOC branch members will be able to provide details of Morris Minor repairers in your area.

If you are considering having restoration work carried out professionally see here for some useful advice: http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=41608

Under 30?:The Club has a very active ‘young members register’ which has its own website and Facebook group. Details are here:
http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=35620

There are also has a number of separate registers for specific types of Minors - see the Registers & Branches section of the message board for details.

Finally ..... If you would like to introduce yourself to other forum members, maybe tell us a bit about yourself or post a photo of your Minor, please post a message in the ‘general discussion’ forum where you will receive a warm welcome :D
