'59 convertible.What type of sunvisor?
Car was a '59 saloon now converted to convertible. As its had a replacement panel for the top windsceren frame there are no holes to indicate where the fittings/mounting holes used to be.I found a pair of visors in the box of bits that are seperate(i.e not joined with a rod as in my Traveller)items with a chromed bracket with 2 mounting holes. Will these be correct now the car is a convertible?
TIA

Mine's a 59 car converted to a spilt screen so has centre hung visors.
These are better on the convertible as you can flip them up when the roof is down and it guides the air over your head......

Re: '59 convertible. What type of sunvisor?
The flat vinyl covered sunvisors are the original ones for the '59 car. I have them on my '63 convertible. They flip upwards (or down) and shield eyes from the sun without any problem. If they're a bit tatty/dirty respray them using Plasticote spray in cream (after cleaning of course) They look like new.

Our other car is a 2009 Citroen C6 3.0 HDi a 'future classic' and far rarer than a Morris Minor!!
The 'moggie' has been replaced with another 'classic' a 1953 Citroen Traction Avant 11BL

Yes, those are the correct visors for the vintage, one for standard trim and two for deluxe. However, convertibles of that vintage had no sunvisors.

Mine is an original 61 ragtop, never had any visors and I have failed to find any holes that suggest they were fitted.jaekl wrote:Yes, those are the correct visors for the vintage, one for standard trim and two for deluxe. However, convertibles of that vintage had no sunvisors.
