Does anyone know whether a 1955 series II would have a gaiter of some sort for the gear stick that sits on top of the carpet? It's the last part of our restoration and it looks unfinished having just a whole in the carpet. All of the photos that I've found don't have a gaiter, but the MMs seem to as do the later models.
Thanks in advance

if its the original long lever one, then no- there is a rubber that sits in the hole on the gearbox cover panel. http://morrisminorspares.co.uk/shop/pro ... 92afa8ee5b

Thanks for the reply. We already have that one, but the rim isn't deep enough to cover the carpet as well. I think we may try to get hold of an MM one as it'll look more finished then leaving it without and original.

It doesnt sit on top of the carpet just in the metal cover so there is just a slit in the carpet. Like you say if you want something on top of the carpet an MM one would be the best
