Hello Everyone!
Hi,
I've picked up my first Moggie this weekend - it's a 1961 4 Door saloon in grey, with 1098cc engine. Due to the varying colours, his name is Christian (anyone with knowledge of EL James' work will understand why!).
I have bought it as a daily use (and only) car, and intend on doing it up (starting with an allover T-Cut and polish!).
I will be on here quite regularly, bugging you all for help. I'm (fairly) young at 26, and am looking forward to years of fun.

Re: Hello Everyone!
Heh. This is AFTER the front has been T'cut and polished - it's currently in a 50/50 state - from behind it looks ratted, but from the front it looks, well, dilapidated. My aim is to go for an allover feeling of "used but loved". Don't think I'd get it up to show standard somehow!panky wrote:I only counted 49
Re: Hello Everyone!
Used and loved, that's the best kind
Re: Hello Everyone!
There's no point polishing primer.... But a couple of rattle cans and a nice warm sunny day will make it look a LOT better.

Re: Hello Everyone!
Just trying to work out what colour he should be.
I've narrowed it down to Frilford Grey, Yukon Grey or maybe even Clerendon Grey. Anyone got an idea? It's 1961.

Re: Hello Everyone!
Most likely Yukon Grey which is the darkest of the 3 colours you mention and correct for 1961 too.

Hello there and welcome! she will look great once she has been completely polished the bonnet has already come up well.
You will not regret buying a Morris Minor they are just so cool. I went to a training course in mine the other day and the trainer just completely fell in love with her and wanted her! she is Dove Grey a 1967 convertible with red leather interior and hood called 'Kofie" (K'oh'fie). I have 2 (trying not to brag) I was just greedy! My other is a 1966 2 door saloon in Old English White she is called 'Daisy' I may spark a debate here but I think that they are all female and so should have girls names. My first one was called Tilley she is still out there somewhere!
