Does changing a travellers colour effect value at all?

Just bought a 65 traveller.It has been resprayed black which i think suits it,and it has been black fora fair few years!Original colour was the very light powder blue colour.Now it niggles me since i've just ordered a full wood kit for it that its not going to be the original colour!!
Now when i first bought the car it need the interior done,2 days after buying it a newly recovered/unused full interior in bottle green came up so i snapped it up(at £78 i had too!)!This obviously won't look great with a light blue exterior!So is it worth changing the way everything's landed in my lap to change it all to original?Thanks.

Your car your choice. I can not see the colour of a car effecting the price, what is more likely to effect the price would be the finish of the paint. So really just select the colour you want and paint the car.

It's only my opinion but if i saw any car with the outside a different colour than the engine bay etc, then i wouldn't personally buy it unless it was at such a low price i could afford to pay to have it respray externally to the original colour .

I can't see anything wrong with blue exterior and green trim ! It would be great!

I'm not sure it would affect the value much...

but if I had a choice of a couple of similar ones I would prefer not to have a green or black one

I've got a Green one (repainted the wrong green however), and my favourite colour is green (a turquoise shade preferably). Some say that a green car is bad luck (had this with a green Vauxhall Victor Super 2.0lt auto, back in 1977).

Budgie's comment about the engine bay bears careful consideration - get the engine bay done at the same time if you are not painting the car the colour that lives under the bonnet!

Don't get me wrong its definately personal preference!

I don't buy cars for their colour... but every daily driver I have had (Transits, minors, escorts, focuses) have all been varying shades of red Bit strange really!

Of course, a lot depends on if you propose to hire it out as a hearse.
The original smoke grey blue is a colour often copied (see the rake of fiats and figaros etc) but never equalled for that pastel shade of nostalgia[frame][/frame]

Yes, smoke grey grows on you. I nearly went for black when I had Bluebell resprayed some years back but would have had to think of a new name for her. Too much thinking required so stuck to original colour and glad I did.

Engine bay has been painted black too,but not the dash and door inners.The comment about blue and green looking good i'll have a think about,i just personally thought it would look a bit odd,i like things to blend in and match.I really like the powder grey though,it looks fresh.The seats/interior i have incidentally are a bottle green,a mid green.Its just the thought now of doing the engine bay again in the powder grey is a bit daunting dauntingif i want it all original!
