watching chasing classic car last nite I seen a moggie on it reg   CDV834C looks like duck egg blue

That would probably be a Trafalgar Blue for a '65 car. Unless it's a respray. Nice colour.

Much more likely to be Smoke Grey which most would describe as a light blue. Trafalgar Blue is a dark blue. Both colours were available in 1965.

Is that the American show with Wayne Carini? What was a Moggy doing in the States complete with British registration plates?

You are right. I'm confusing it with BMC Bermuda Blue. Had it on a Spridget.
