My Friends
Please clear - i heard like this - but a friend of mine in UK , says his friend has 1948 car that registered on 1948 November .
"The list of chassis numbers only starts on 1 January 1949, so it looks like none were registered in 1948. If any were, they would still have been Series MM"

Re: Registation of 1948 - Are you agree ?
There are a few 1948 Series MMs still existing, 501, 507, 584 plus a couple more in UK, and several in Australia. Claims are often made for 1948 cars but these usually turn out to be 1949 cars.
As the chassis numbers were issued in batches starting at 501 for 2 door cars, 5001 for CKD cars and 5501 for LHD cars it is not always obvious which year they were built
