Bonnet up height

Post by wearthefoxhat »

Hi folks. Could any of you good people tell me the height from the floor to the highest point of the bonnet when the bonnet is in the up or open position please?
I have a concrete sectional garage with a standard up and over door. The flat roof tapers from front to back. I want to know if the bonnet could lift fully.
Thanks in advance

Just had a measure. Its approximately 65 and a half inches. The heightest point was the handle thing on it.

Hope this helps.

If you are a couple of inches short of the required hight you could try letting the air out of the tyres

Thanks guys. I'm returning from Spain soon after 4 years and I know I have to change the corregated asbestos roof on the garage. I'd like to bring a traveller back to life and thought the bonnet height might have been an issue. Thanks to greendefender for the 65.5 inches measurement and moggiethouable for the less than 6ft guide.
It will be do-able without raising the roof!
Thanks again guys

before taking the roof off check where abouts in your area will take the panels.

10 years ago i had to take some to a tip 25 miles away and was limited to 5 panels a month but it was free.

my neighbour has said he was being charged over 200 pounds to take his roof..

and off course make sure you have all the correct clothing and bags etc before taking it apart.
